THE WEB WITHIN US:

Exploring Fascia, Mycelium, and the Networks That Connect Us

What if the same hidden networks that connect life beneath the forest floor also exist within your body?

Beneath the surface of the earth, vast mycelial networks communicate, exchange nutrients, support one another, and connect living systems together.

Beneath the surface of the body, fascia forms a continuous web of connective tissue - shaping how we move, sense, feel, and experience ourselves.

The Web Within Us invites us to explore the fascinating parallels between these two living networks, and to experience connection not simply as an idea, but through the body itself.

At a time when so many of us feel increasingly disconnected - from our bodies, from one another, and from the natural world - this is an invitation to slow down, listen inwardly, and remember that we are already part of something much larger.

About

This is an immersive, experiential workshop exploring the relationship between fascia, mycelium, embodiment and connection.

We’ll begin with the body, using guided myofascial release to slow down and bring awareness to the tissues that hold us. Through gentle movement, touch and stillness, we’ll explore what happens when we give ourselves time to listen rather than push through.

From there, we’ll widen the lens.

What can the body's connective tissue teach us about connection?

What might fascia and mycelial networks have in common?

And what happens when we begin to understand ourselves not as isolated individuals, but as interconnected beings within larger living systems?

Drawing on accessible fascia science, body-based practice and the ecology of mycelial networks, the workshop explores connection at multiple scales - from the microscopic and cellular, to the personal, relational and ecological.

Rather than simply talking about interconnectedness, we’ll spend time feeling it.

What to expect

The workshop combines embodied practice, accessible learning and reflective integration.

You’ll be invited to:

  • Experience a guided myofascial release practice
  • Gently soften physical tension and develop greater body awareness
  • Explore the relationship between fascia, sensation, memory and emotional experience
  • Learn about fascia as a living, responsive network throughout the body
  • Discover the remarkable ways mycelial networks communicate, exchange and support life
  • Explore the parallels between human connective tissue and fungal networks
  • Reflect through journaling and optional sharing
  • Connect with others through a grounded, embodied group experience

There is no need to have any previous knowledge of fascia, mycelium or bodywork.

Your Facilitator

Issey Cannon is a Bristol-based bodyworker specialising in Integrated Myofascial Release Therapy and holistic approaches to physical and emotional healing.
With over a decade of experience, she supports clients to move out of pain and into deeper connection with their bodies. Her work explores the relationship between fascia, the nervous system, and emotional experience - helping people reconnect with their innate capacity for healing, awareness, and ease.
Grounded, compassionate, and deeply attuned, Issey weaves together scientific understanding with embodied therapeutic practice to create spaces for meaningful transformation.

Come and explore the web that holds you.

Come to soften, sense and reconnect with your body.

Come to learn about the hidden networks beneath our feet and within our skin.

And come to wonder what these networks might teach us about the deeper truth of being alive:

that none of us exist in isolation.
