Dance Our Dreams In
Self-Care, Cacao Dance and Celebration!
Are you feeling like snuggling into hibernation? Are you feeling like taking care of your body's needs, and the needs of your heart, soul and mind? Are you feeling like accessing deep gratitude and gently finding your way towards celebration? If so, come and join us to Dance Our Dreams In together, with a focus on self-care and celebration.
This will be the magical event three in a series of transformative monthly gatherings, where movement becomes manifestation and dreams take shape through dance. Where you are free to be and move or rest however you feel to – to follow your heart's desire and let your body express what your soul yearns to create in this world.
As you arrive you will be welcomed by a wonderful team of volunteers including Cathy, Cherry, Klina, Leanna and Matthew. You will be bathed in cleansing sage incense and offered other homemade treats, then invited to join the circle around the altar - you could place something meaningful to you there during our journey together if you wish.
Our evening will start in circle, feeling into the self-care we need in this dark season of hibernation and rest. We will check in briefly and then set our intentions for the evening - what are we wanting to call into our lives in this moment?
Then Maite Alonso will be offering nurturing, flowing stretches to welcome us into our bodies. Maite’s magical work integrates her great passions for Meditation, Dance, Music, Yoga and Healing together into one practice, where she feels most at home. She is qualified in many healing modalities and is committed to the work of inner awakening and living a conscious and compassionate life. Her gentle, grounding practice will encourage bodies of any kind to relax and feel more in flow - you don't need to be flexible or energetic and everything is an invitation.
Klina will be sharing her signature delicious and powerful Cacao, honouring her Mayan lineage from Belize, and integrating spices that align with the season and our intentional dream-weaving. Leanna will guide us into connection with the spirit of Cacao, while we drink this sacred plant medicine that supports us to open our hearts and connect us to the wisdom of our bodies and souls. Leanna will be sharing the wisdom lineage of the Mayan Yokot’an community which has been handed down for 11 generations. We are honoured to keep the ritualistic traditions of connection with the land, the stars and the people alive and vibrant. We celebrate and maintain the sacred origin of seed and corn, and the deep understanding of the interconnected web of all life, through asking permission and giving thanks for the abundance we receive so freely and joyfully, as we dance and sing this sacred path.
Gaia Harvey Jackson is an amazing conscious dance facilitator and empowerment coach who creates playful and soulful spaces for you to feel powerful in your own skin, and let your inner weirdo breathe. Her ecstatic dance journey will offer us the chance to feel into the darkness of winter and dance through to celebration, with a sassy mix of tribal beats, sexy guitar riffs, and expansive vocals, which take you on a journey of snakey exploration, through to full-power release, and out the other side into a heart-centred place of connection and reverence.
You're invited to move freely with your intention however you are called to – dancing wildly, moving gently, or resting in stillness as you explore your dream as it unfolds, feeling in your body how it is to already have realised your next steps.
This is more than a dance party; it's also a co-creative space for dream-weaving. As we move together, we're not just celebrating who we are now, but actively creating the lives we envision. Can we make the journey easy and fun? Do we need to dance through the dark to find the light at the other side? Will we be riding the rapids or floating serenely on an exquisitely still lake? We dance together knowing that all emotions are welcome, and that, while we are responsible for ourselves, dancer supporters will be available in the space.
The evening closes with an invitation to connect with others, to help turn today's dreams into tomorrow's reality, if you wish... and finally some stillness together in circle as we land gently back to earth.
This is a chance to come and relax, snuggle, unfurl, dance and enjoy! We will have a comfy, cosy corner filled with blankets and cushions, where you can go to rest and snuggle if you wish. Treat yourself to some deliciousness in these dark months - with abundant blessings on your dance journey.
Dress code: Wear whatever brings you joy – ceremonial, fancy, comfy, sexy, simple, or completely silly. Your authentic expression is very welcome here.
What to bring: A large water bottle and a cushion / floor chair / blanket / something comfortable to sit / lie on - make sure you'll be comfortable if you'd like to rest or snuggle during the evening.
Come as you are. Connect with Cacao. Move as you feel. Dream as much as you dare.
When you follow your joy, where will it flow?
