Following our first successful Policy Hack Day in January 2026, we're back! This time around something that underpins a lot of our policies: the Code of Conduct.

Re-imagining internal organisational policies based on anti-oppressive, care-based, collective principles ain’t easy! Most org policies you will find out there will reproduce a bunch of the wider garbage that our groups and organisations are trying to challenge. To create alternatives, we need different starting points.

The RadHR policy library has loads of great examples to build on, across a wide range of policy areas. But policies need to be more than words in a doc. We need space to work through the hard questions together.

This Code of Conduct (CoC) Hack Day is for people from organisations that have a clear set of guiding principles and values in how they deliver their core work, even if we're in different stages:

  • your org may have CoC that feels punitive and out of line with your org's values/principles, and you want that to change,
  • your org may feel alienated by the concept of CoC  but struggle with handling processes or following policies because you may not have foundations in place,
  • you're in the early stages of thinking about how people in your team interact/work together, and want to write stuff down and lay groundwork for future policy or procedures.

Join us on Thursday 8th October in London, with folks from small community groups, arts orgs, workers' co-ops and radical non-profits, to:

  • Dream up what we'd actually like our CoCs to look like
  • Think collectively about how we do (and don't) want legal, social and economic norms shaping our policies
  • Share some lovely fresh food together

Sound appealing? Sign up now!

A few details:

  • Who it's for: we're focusing this on folks from smaller groups - those with around 20 paid workers or fewer, without a dedicated person working on HR/people practices
  • Travel support: we've got some budget for travel costs if you're coming from outside London - just ask!
  • Spots: capped at 35 people, max 2 per group, so as many different groups as possible can take part
