Join forager and wild foodie Hannah and artisanal pizza maker Simon (founder of Pizza Pirates) for a day of foraging, pizza making and eating!

The day will start with gentle 2-2.5 hour circular walk along the River Dart path towards Sharpham, where you'll learn how to identify a range of wild plants that can be used for food and herbal remedies. You'll learn how to ensure you forage in a safe and sustainable way, and how to benefit from the delicious wild foods growing all around us. As well as sharing ideas for getting creative in the kitchen with wild foods, Hannah will bring in her background as a dietitian to share with you about how and why these wild plants are so good for us from a nutrition perspective. Along the way you will gather a variety of wild greens and flowers for some of your pizzas toppings!

Upon reaching the wonderful Cobberton Gardens Simon will lead a workshop in artisanal sourdough pizza making, where you’ll get the chance to shape and cook your own pizzas using the wild produced we've picked. Along side this Hannah will show you how to transform some of those foraged plants into delicious pizza toppings including pestos and wild flower bud capers.

Importantly we then all enjoy eating our wild pizza lunch together! For those with room, there will also be a wild infused sweet treat to follow.
