Cacao ~ Movement ~ Sound ~ Connection
Sunday 25 October | 1:00–5:00pm
Come as you are. Open your heart. Let the music move you.
Join me for my launch of Inti Ecstatic Dance - A Journey of Surrender and letting go what no longer serves us.
INTI means Sun in Quechua — a symbol of life, warmth, vitality and illumination.
This gathering is an invitation to connect with your own inner sun.
This will be a journey through Cacao, embodied movement, Ecstatic Dance, sound bath and heart-led connection.
We’ll begin by gathering in circle and sharing a Cacao activation, an invitation to arrive, connect with the body, open the heart and set an intention for the journey ahead.
From there, we’ll enter an immersive Ecstatic Dance journey, allowing the music and our bodies to guide us through different rhythms, energies and states of expression, to shed the layers of what no longer serves us and surrender to our bodies.
There is no choreography. No performance. No right or wrong way to dance.
You might shake, stretch, stomp, flow, jump, laugh, release, explore, soften or simply be still.
The dance floor is your space to listen to your body and let whatever wants to move, move.
The Journey
12:45pm - Doors open. Settle into the space and socialise.
1:15pm — Open Circle & Cacao Activation
We gather in circle, settle into the space, share Cacao and set an intention for our journey together.
2:00-4:00pm - Ecstatic Dance Journey
A carefully curated musical journey taking us from grounding and connection into expansion, expression and release.
4:00-4:45 Sound Bath & Integration
After the dance reaches its peak, we’ll transition into stillness and surrender into a deeply nourishing sound bath — giving the body and nervous system space to rest, integrate and receive.
4:45-5:00 pm Heart Closing Circle
We’ll gently return to circle, connecting with ourselves and each other. A space to reflect, share from the heart and honour whatever has moved through us.
5:00 - 6:00pm Social Time
We’ll finish with relaxed social time; an opportunity to meet, connect, share conversations and enjoy the community we've created.
Ecstatic Dance Guidelines
Ecstatic Dance is an embodiment practice that celebrates authentic movement without judgement or structure. You are invited to show up as you are and take care of yourself throughout the journey. Move freely. Release what you're ready to release.Reconnect with your body.Express what words cannot say. Listen to your inner rhythm.Rest in stillness. Open your heart. Feel the support of dancing together.
You don't need to be a dancer.
You don't need a partner.
You don't need to know what you're doing.
Just be willing to listen and let the music move you.
This is a barefoot practice, so please don't wear any shoes on the dance floor, unless they are special dance shoes.
You're invited to connect with one another. Respecting people's personal space is essential for the safety of this practice, so please if not given a clear yes from someone to dance with you, take that as a No and keep dancing with yourself or someone else that accepts the invitation.
Drink plenty of water throughout the session and take rests if you need them.
Wear comfortable clothes that allow you to move freely.
No experience necessary.
No partner necessary.
Just you, your body, your heart and the music.
Your Dj and Ceremony Host:
Dj Sunshine AKA Yhonet is a Venezuelan Musician based in Bristol. She shares her ancestral wisdom from South America by channelling light codes through singing, movement and art that have been proving to be beneficial for energetic clearing and purification of the mind and soul. The songs she channels are soothing, heart opening and very healing.
She did the Ecstatic Dance Facilitator Training with Osara, so you can expect a journey that is deep and transformative.
She works offering shamanic energetic clearing through the sacred chants and holding space with her music in plant medicine ceremonies. She does group and 1-1 creative coaching. She has a regular practice of sitting with ceremonial Cacao to connect with her inner love and creative expression. Her devotion for this plant has led her to strengthen a very powerful relationship with the Spirit of Cacao that is guiding her to combine her creative gifts with facilitating Cacao Activations for those who would like to discover this plant, develop their existing connection and to discover and empower their creative voice. You can find out more about Sunshine's journey and offerings on her website www.creativejourney.art , her YouTube Channel https://youtube.com/@yhonetgarcia?si=8IkDCOCeRcISqx4v and IG: @yhonetsolradiante and @creative.journeyuk
Guidelines for the Cacao Activation
Theobroma Cacao (food of the Gods, Cacao Tree):
On a physical level, Theobroma Cacao is a powerful ancestral food that provides longevity, it is full of polyphenols, which act as antioxidants that help to protect the body and neutralise free radicals that can cause any damage to the cells. Polyphenols also help reduce blood sugar levels, improve heart health and digestion, reduce inflammation, boost brain function and reduce cancer risk. The main alkaloid compound of Cacao is Theobromine, which acts as a mild stimulant in the body with a slower release into the blood stream than caffeine. Cacao is a rich source of magnesium, increases concentration levels and cognition, improves energy levels and mood due to its serotonin release, and acts as a natural aphrodisiac.
On a spiritual level, Theobroma Cacao helps us to connect with our heart centre, Nature, and enhances our creative expression. The Spirit of Cacao is a keeper of sacred wisdom that connects us with our intuition and the divine feminine energy; source of power in the emotional body. She holds the vibrations and healing energy of unconditional love, kindness and joy. She holds space for the inner child with very gentle, tender and loving grand-mother energy. When taken in communion with others, it enhances connection, heart opening, communication and peace.
For Cacao to be effective, it's important that we prepare by:
- Eating lightly, at least 1h before the event;
- Avoiding caffeine during the day;
- Staying hydrated, before and during the dance.
Consuming Cacao is not recommended if you're pregnant or breastfeeding, if you are on high dose of antidepressants, or have a serious hearth condition. We can provide herbal tea for those who want to take part in the ceremony without consuming Cacao. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns, and t let me know if you prefer to drink herbal tea. Rose Tea will be provided as it is also a beautiful heart opening medicine.
