SOBER RAVE presents: WAKE & RAVE
Start the weekend feeling fresh(er) with WAKE & RAVE in Chapel Street Arts café.
All you need do is bring your lovely self, wear whatever you feel comfortable in (PJs are incredibly acceptable) and get ready to RAVE!
Headphones are provided and we put together an eclectic mix of music across the eras and genres. You'll be invited to start with a little grounding and shake off, then, into the tunes.
No chit chat, no choreo. You do you!
Chapel Street Arts café is open if you wish to purchase a coffee, tea or whatever gets you going in a morning*.
*There'll be a small window between 9:45 and 10:00 to grab a brew, or, you can grab one after the dance at 11:00. Please be patient and kind to staff.
Just to be super clear this is a alcohol and recreational drug free space. Anyone under the influence will be asked to leave. There's plenty of other spaces in town to do that in.
A little about the facilitator:
Gemma Gwen Armes is a trainee dance movement psychotherapist, empowerment coach, facilitator and holder of SOBER RAVE.
She fell in love with Ecstatic Dance in London when on her recovery journey from alcohol and drugs. When she returned to the Midlands she wanted to bring similar spaces like this to the local community.
She has been offering dance and movement workshops since 2022. WAKE & RAVE is her newest offering.
Some things previous guests have said about other events:
“Incredibly freeing, powerful and empowering”
“Very comfy and welcoming space :)”
“Just what I needed”
