POSTPONED UNTIL 31st MARCH
Join Darren Le Baron as he explores some of the historical and esoteric meanings behind skull symbolism, and what connections it has with psychedelics.
You can find skull symbolism interwoven within cultures dating back to the earliest ancient peoples on the continent of Africa. You can also find it in the art, mythology and rituals of indigenous peoples all over the world. Skull symbolism would later influence the major religions and numerous secret societies of the modern world. You cannot deny the Skull Gang influence regardless of how it’s been flipped; whether you see it as death, mortality, cult ancestor worship, intellect, evil, poison or resurrection… these are the notions it evokes. In this new presentation Darren Le Baron will explore some of the historical and esoteric meanings behind skull symbolism, and what connections it has with psychedelics.“ I frequently see skulls all over while on psychedelics. Sometimes I see them as brief flickers as my eyes move while walking, and sometimes I see them as closed-eye visuals that resemble the sort of flaming-skull motorcycle gang style art.” The psychedelic users of the ancient world portrayed skulls in their art, some even wore and adorned real human skulls as part of their traditions. These acts may be considered taboo and primitive in the here and now. But these peoples and their relationship with skulls, death and the afterlife can also invoke life in the here and now.
