Join us for an immersive book launch event as we celebrate the release of How to be feral: movement practices to re-wild your body, a guide to reconnecting with the wild and untamed aspects of our human nature.
The evening will begin with an hour-long movement class, where you’ll get a chance to experience some of the practices and ideas from the book first-hand. Disrupt your human habits, explore primal movement, and rediscover the joy of being in tune with nature. If you feel enlivened by the session you can also join a 10 week course Re-wild your body based on the practices of the book.
Afterward, I will give a talk about the inspiration behind the book, the journey of going “feral,” and how these practices can bring more vitality and freedom into our everyday lives. The talk will be followed by a Q&A.
We’ll wrap up the evening with mingling, accompanied by nibbles and non-alcoholic botanical drinks.
You can choose to join us from the beginning with the movement class at 6pm or come only for the talk and drinks at 7.15.
Come ready to move, connect, and explore a new way of being!
Author bio
Claire is a movement artist, filmmaker, herbalist and anthropologist. Her movement practice is based outdoors in dialogue with nature and the more-than-human world. She regularly moves in Hackney Marshes where she has an art project in collaboration with filmmaker Dominique Rivoal who has been filming her moving throughout the changing seasons of this natural landscape in the heart of the city for the last six years. They have built a four screens installation with 3D soundscape called 'We are grass, we are plants, we are Hackney Marshes' from the footage. She is the author of How to be feral: movement practices to re-wild your body, published with Triarchy Press. The workshop, the book and the installation are all the fruits of her committed movement art practice in Hackney Marshes.
