You're invited to join a coven of 13 women to journey Opening to Eros.

We begin with the Taurus Full Moon, on Monday 26th October.

And with Venus, representing Inanna, in the underworld. 
the descent of Inanna is a living myth representing a pathway of women's journeys.

Intention for Opening to Eros

Moving beyond patriarchal heteronormative paradigms of sexuality. We have been taught to look to the male gaze for approval, acceptance and validation of our sexuality, attractiveness and expression. Women who step out the box have been publicly shamed and humiliated. Together we feel and taste the unique essence of our eros from the inside out.

A space to weave with a web of women who are willing to strip back to their es~sense~ual nature. 
For you to have held space to unravel the conditioning, stories and numbness associated with sexuality & eros in a space of loving witness, growing compassionate celebration of all that you are and allowing the current of aliveness to anchor you home. From here, we remember our power and capacity to create as cyclical reciprocal beings.

Gathering in Temple  

Re-membering the sacred and ancient red-thread lineage & practice of circling, each gathering serves to deepen trust as another step along the journey through many cycles & spirals. Developing intimacy with the Temple herself and those who come to gather every week. You have a seat that only you can occupy, and it is there for whenever you are ready.

the connection between women has been severed by thousands of years of oppression and patriarchal domination, and at times it can be challenging to gather with other females. we invite you to journey as deep as you feel comfortable, walk with honesty, authenticity and the courage to share your experience of beauty, triggers & challenges as part of individual;+collective whole-ing & healing. The container is here as a framework and guide,  throughout this creation process as well as in the journey ahead, we will remain open to ~ & humbled by ~ the ever unfolding mystery, the current of eros. Listening, shifting and responding.

ROOT

We begin Opening to Eros by tending to our roots. Roots represent a sense of belonging, home and containment. 
Belonging to self, others, the earth & the mystery.

You will cultivate an awareness of your nervous system, so you may descend into the body and present moment.

What are your values, boundaries, intentions?

As we Open to Eros we set the container by resting into lineages that honour female cyclical wisdom & power. 
You may be the first in your recent lineage to have the opportunity to choose  new stories, new maps. 

The female body has long been regarded as the root of all sin. The erotic either hypersexualised or outright rejected, embodied in the madonna / whore split.
Together we sew the seeds for sense-uality, sexuality & relationship with eros to be rooted in truth, love & liberation. 
For your erotic essence to be uniquely yours before anyone else.

Aligning with Venus~Inanna’s star point, a new phase & new script is taking root.

What do you call her? 
Naming of female pleasure anatomy has predominantly come through male discourse and male scientists. Female sexual anatomy (and health in general) is largely still misunderstood, by men, the system and also by ourselves. 
We were not educated well, and sources are still rubbish and heavily influenced by patriarchy.
Can you believe the clitoris in her fullness was only properly documented by Helen O'Connell in 2005! 

By naming your body and understanding your anatomy you gain autonomy.

Your vulva ~ pussy ~ yoni is a gateway from the external to the internal; a bridge between worlds. 
Much can be stored here and in the wider landscape of your pelvic bowl.

With a vulva mapping ritual, you'll get to know your body's landscape, honour her stories and begin to trace new pathways through her peaks and valleys.

The Descent of Inanna is from a time before patriarchal dominator culture;

We return together, having crossed through the threshold of Vulva, to meet the Muse;
each woman animated by Eros, by the deep feminine current, expressing her essence 
as a way to stand in her power and create a more beautiful world beyond domination and oppression. 

so you may have the relationship to sexuality, eros & creativity that you desire. 

Much of eros lives in the mystery, in the emergent current of aliveness ~ a river seeking to flow through well tended banks. 
A pulse that is already there, not something you must acquire.
Only that you must un-become who you thought you ‘should’ be, in order to express as who you truly are.
To tend those banks you will journey practices that support shedding shame, honouring numbness and living rooted in your erotic power.

Allowing your essence to express through presence, awareness, sound, breath, movement & touch.
We will be witnessed by, and witness the muse of, each woman in our coven.

So you may taste your essence and live as the expression of this current of aliveness;

When you reclaim what was stolen, repressed & denied,

POWER

Eros awakens a relational power within and between us. A current that has the capacity to support a shift from ‘power over’ dominator dynamics to ‘power with’. 

Power with allows for collaboration, a recognition that we are stronger together on an embodied level.

When one woman rises, we all rise. 

You will root into your inner compass to allow eros to support your expression in the world.
With exploration through embodied practice of what holds you back from claiming your power, you allow the intelligence of eros to support you to experience the truth of your expression. Cultivating a new relationship with power, boundaries & desires.

RECLAMATION & REMEMBRANCE

A remembrance of how to be guided home by our own pleasure and body. As you reclaim your innate erotic intelligence and power, you will tend to your capacity to ask for what you need, value yourself and become resourced. No longer people pleasing or non-consensually shape shifting, you recognise just how deeply needed your essence rooted in erotic truth is.

You become your own permission slip. 

Reclaiming your wholeness, with all that makes you uniquely you. In our closing ceremony we celebrate & integrate your journey through Opening to Eros.

♀ The Lineage of Venus ♀

We bring awareness to the Venus cycle in order to rest into a wider cosmology, a 251(ish) year cycle. A cycle within a cycle,  approximately every 8 years making a near perfect 5 pointed star, the spiral dance of creation. And within these longer cycles, Venus also experiences a  19 month cycles. These cycles within cycles are like the spiral journey we walk in life, a reminder of the small cycle and the eagles eye view cycles. 

Additionally, Venus is a planet that is observable with the human eye. Imagine how many thousands of years our wise and well ancestors have observed these cycles. It is evidenced in the writings of the Inanna Myth on tablet, the oldest writing on tablet found, by a woman named Enheduanna. 

There is mythological similarity with Venus and Inanna, markers in the observable Venus cycle that correlate with the 7 gates passaged by Inanna. this myth embodies the initiatory journey of woman. how we may choose descent in order to allow ourselves to die unto a more true essence. A mythological underpinning illustrating our power to choose initiation, to cross a threshold. 

The Descent of Inanna is one of the oldest 'myths' - suppressed by the myth (that then became religion) of Adam & Eve. Reducing women's erotic power to something sinful in the collective psyche of dominant western culture for thousands of years. 

It is time for ancient yet new living myths, woven with our own unique listening to the current of eros, as She ~ the deep feminine current ~ whispers words that weave new stories through the vessels of our bodies, supported by the wisdom of our well and wise ancestors.

In the venus-inanna cycle we are completing our ascent and preparing to go retrograde: to the underworld? The void? Questioning our relational values, our intimacy with life. In this deepening, we remember. Reclaiming feminine mysteries and erotic power.
 

My prayer is that Opening to Eros serves as a threshold for you. As a container for you to strip back, reclaim your erotic essence and stand in your power ~ however that may look and feel for you.
