When all the Birds Have Flown Away - Album Launch

Join Helena Day and her band for the launch of her debut album, When All the Birds Have Flown Away, in the magical outdoor setting of Plot 9, Greenwich, gathered around the fire for an intimate evening of live music and storytelling in honour of our departing migratory birds. Plus opening support from The Pig

Helena Day is a Kent based folk-fusion singer-songwriter whose sound blends traditional folk with jazz and soul through rich vocals and sparse, delicate live arrangements, described by BBC Radio Kent as sounding "like a fairytale", Helena  is also an environmental activist and has begun using her music as a platform for matters of wildlife conservation.

When All the Birds Have Flown Away is a collection of reimagined English folk songs and original music inspired by Britain's declining bird populations. The album explores broader themes of grief, seasonal turning, and ecological interconnection and invites us to challenge the systemic forces that have brought us here. To quote Joan Baez - 'It doesn't protest gently, but it sounds gentle.'

Merchandise will be available to buy including album CDs and  cuckoo prints painted by Peter Loader. This is a completely acoustic performance. It is an outdoor space but there is a canopy shelter from the elements and a fire to gather around. 

The Pig

The Pig is represented by three singers and multi-instrumentalists (Lileth Chinn, Duncan McTaggart and Nicholas Hann) Inspired by pigs they aim to rearrange traditional songs and tunes in close, swinish harmonies and dream of finding forgotten pearls.
