Playground Arts Immersive Theatre presents…
Tales Entwined: A Story for Summer Solstice
An immersive theatre experience carefully woven with story-telling, live music, movement & puppetry. Sensory, vibrant & intimate; we invite you to gently interact with this beautiful story, discovering its roots in nature, honouring the cycle of the year and collectively celebrating our Summer Solstice. Inspired by the classic tale by Sibylle Von Olfers “The Root Children".
Suitable for ages 0-100 yrs.
Tales Entwined is a series of four stories for families which follow the cycle of our year and celebrate our connection to nature through a multi-arts approach. A Story for Summer Solstice is the first in our collection.
Date: 22nd June 2025
Performance times: 11am and 2:30pm
Performance duration: 45-50 minutes.
Standard tickets: Seated audience member. Floor seating is provided for children who wish to sit on the floor near to the stage. Seated audience members will have an immersive experience and will be invited by the story-teller to take part in the performance whilst remaining seated.
Participatory Experience : This price includes one free carer ticket with the interactive ticket. This is offered for 5-8 year olds only and we ask that you arrive at 10:30am or 2pm - 30 minutes before the performance time. This ticket offers a wonderful and unique opportunity for children to have a truly immersive theatre experience. They will be onstage for the duration of the show (45 minutes) and will have a collective role with the other children (6 maximum). They will be the Root Children. They will be gently guided around the stage by two experienced artists, interacting with other characters and props. This experience is suitable for children who feel confident to take part in the performance on the stage without hands on support from their carer. Their carer is invited to sit in the audience in a reserved seat on the side row and the children can go to their carer at any time. This may not be suitable for a child who needs support from an adult to take part in activities as it will not be possible for the carers to be on the stage. No experience or rehearsal is necessary
