ANCESTOR RITUAL

A Samhain gathering with Geraldine

A Samhain Society Dead Good Festival Event

Sunday 1 November
1:30pm - 3:00pm
Flints, Newgate Gap, Margate
 £15

As the year turns towards darkness and Samhain brings us to the threshold between worlds, join Geraldine for a contemplative ancestral correspondence rite exploring remembrance, gratitude, healing and connection.

Together, we’ll enter a guided meditation journey to meet with our ancestors, make offerings of gratitude and cultivate a deeper relationship with the unseen.

Held within a shared and welcoming space, this alchemising grief ritual invites us to honour the cycle of life and death, give thanks for the third harvest, and acknowledge the ancestors and more-than-human companions who accompany us through the turning of the seasons.

Journey inward and meet your ancestors
 Offer gratitude and remembrance
Honour the cycle of life and death
Explore the threshold of Samhain
 Cultivate connection with the unseen

You don’t need any previous experience with ritual or ancestral practice. Come as you are, with an open heart and a willingness to listen.

WHAT TO BRING

A small offering for the ancestral altar — something meaningful, seasonal or symbolic

Comfortable clothing and/or a blanket for the meditation journey

MEET YOUR GUIDE

As an interdisciplinary fine artist, Geraldine’s work is informed by an exploration of spiritual practices and a deep engagement with more-than-human worlds. She works in correspondence with site-led interventions, allowing place, landscape and the more-than-human to shape and inform her practice.

An initiate in Western esoteric traditions, Geraldine has cultivated a lifelong personal practice that she describes as folkcraft. Her work as a folkwytch is deeply rooted in animist connection, forging a relationship with the seen and unseen world.

Within the public dimension of her esoteric practice, Geraldine works with life-cycle rituals and holds space within the expanded field. She creates temporary sites of participatory sacredness, offering gateways towards reconciliation with our ancestors and our more-than-human kin.
