From bulletproof coffees to mantra meditation, the morning plants the seed for the rest of the day. Instilling the day with purpose each morning, practising, and maintaining morning rituals creates momentum for striving in everyday life, and an infrastructure for long-term positive changes. But where to begin? With usual routines hindered by the pandemic, how do we build and maintain our own practices in the best way to serve well being, productivity, and connection?
Different cultures and religions have recognised the importance of ritual throughout history, whether expressing gratitude through prayer or exploring the mind-body-connection with routines such as Yoga Kriyas and the 5 Tibetan Rites. What can we learn from ancient practices in creating our routines? What re-invented and novel practices have emerged in our modern world? And what can behavioural science teach us about the physical, psychological, and social benefits of different morning exercises?
Investigating the science underpinning habit-change and exploring positive and productive routines, we will learn from our panellists and from one-another, inspiring and encouraging our very own morning rituals.
