Human intelligence emerges from the interaction of various cognitive domains: memory, decision making, attention, planning etc. Reasoning represents our ability to draw conclusions and solve problems making use of a range of these cognitive domains. How does reasoning change over time? Are we actually getting smarter as we age? Are there differences in cognition between males and females? What does data from thousands of people tell us?
Join Maria Balaet as she discusses what we know to date about human reasoning, based on one of the largest studies in the world on this topic which was run by Imperial College London.
Women in Psychedelics Webinar Series is a regular online event that hosts psychedelic women from around the world. Among them are scientists, researchers, psychiatrists, therapists, artists, bodyworkers and healers.
SPEAKER: MARIA BALAET

Maria Balaet is a computational neuroscientist at Imperial College London investigating how we could programmatically predict how cognition changes over time. Alongside, she runs her own virtual lab called Psyence Camp, which aims to elucidate how psychedelics impact cognition in the general healthy population, in naturalistic settings. Last year she piloted one of the largest field studies on psychedelics to date at a large European burn (and is planning to continue such endeavours when the pandemic is over).
