Pomegranate Grove
What becomes possible when women’s rage is no longer silenced, minimised or carried alone?
Pomegranate Grove is a guided journey into women’s rage as sacred fury: not something shameful or destructive, but an understandable response to what is being done to women’s bodies, lives and freedoms.
At the heart of the workshop is a guided journey created by Dr Rosalind Watts, with music by composer Finn Petcher. It is held within a carefully structured afternoon of preparation, small-group sharing, live sound, witnessing and integration.
Women will be invited to give expression to what has been held inside. This may take the form of sound, movement, tears, stillness or silence. There is no correct way to participate and no pressure to perform.
Men and other allies are invited to bear witness and help hold a grounded, protective presence around the experience. Their role is not to interpret, manage or resolve what arises, but to remain present without defensiveness or withdrawal.
This is not an invitation for women to direct rage at men or at any other participant. The workshop creates a supported container in which rage can be expressed and released without being targeted at individuals. Clear boundaries and guidance will be established before the journey begins.
The intention is to explore what may become possible when women can express what has been suppressed, and men can meet that expression with steadiness, listening and care. This may offer a meaningful experience of recognition, trust and relational repair, without promising any particular outcome.
Who Is It For?
This workshop is for women carrying rage, grief or silence about what is being done to women’s bodies and lives.
It is also for men and other allies who want to deepen their capacity to witness women’s experience without interrupting, explaining or trying to fix it.
Participants will choose one of three roles:
Women in the grove
Invited to express what is present through voice, movement, stillness or silence.
Men holding the boundary
Invited to offer a steady, protective presence around the grove. They are witnesses, not recipients or targets of the expression.
Moonkeepers
A liminal role supporting the movement between intensity, witnessing and return. This will be explained fully during the workshop.
Everyone remains free to pause, move, step out or ask for support at any time.
What to expect
2:30pm – Arrival & Welcome
We’ll begin gently, with time to arrive, settle into the space and have some tea or water. Cushions and blankets will be available, and the afternoon will open with a welcome from Ros.
2:45pm – Opening: Why We’re Here
Ros will introduce the themes at the heart of the gathering: women’s rage, sacred fury, and the journey that led to The Pomegranate Grove. She’ll share some of the thinking behind the work, including the ACER framework, the wisdom of the tree teachers and the cycles of the year, and why rage has a place within this lineage.
There will also be time to understand what the journey will invite from you — and, importantly, what it will not ask of you — before we pause for tea.
3:20pm – Tea Break
3:30pm – Small Group Sharing
In small groups, we’ll take some time to meet one another through a simple question: What brought you here today? Each person will have space to speak without interruption, with the emphasis on listening rather than responding or offering advice.
4:00pm – Preparing for the Journey
Before the guided journey begins, Ros will talk everyone through the shape of the experience, the different roles within it, and the choices available to you throughout. There will be clear guidance around participation, support and aftercare, and time to find a position in the room that feels comfortable.
4:15pm – The Pomegranate Grove Journey
At the centre of the day is a 45-minute guided journey, voiced live by Ros with music by Finn Petcher.
The room will become a held, immersive space in which you are welcome to lie down, sit, move, make sound or remain still. There will be room for both quiet experience and fuller physical or vocal expression, with support available throughout.
5:00pm – Quiet Return & Rest
We’ll come back slowly, beginning with a period of quiet and soft music. There will be time to drink water, reconnect with your body and simply notice what is present.
You’re welcome to have the snack you’ve brought, journal, sit quietly or speak with one of the supporting facilitators if that feels helpful.
5:30pm – Integration Circles
We’ll return to our small groups with the invitation: What needs to be spoken now?
As earlier in the afternoon, this is a space for witnessing rather than advice or fixing. Each group will also create a simple collective response using words and colour, which will become part of a shared piece in the room.
6:00pm – Movement & Grounding
The final part of the gathering offers a chance to bring movement and energy back into the body, accompanied by an uplifting playlist and guided shaking.
For anyone who would prefer something quieter, there will also be space to sit, breathe, ground and reconnect with the present moment.
6:20pm – Closing & Continuing Care
Ros will bring the gathering to a close and share aftercare resources and ways to continue exploring the work. Tea will remain available as we finish.
Helpers will remain for a further 30 minutes for anyone who needs additional time before leaving.
Care, Choice and Boundaries
This is an emotionally intense workshop. A visible support team will be present throughout.
You will not be required to speak, make sound, disclose personal experiences or participate beyond what feels right for you. You may open your eyes, remain seated, move, pause or step out at any point.
The workshop supports emotional expression, but not aggression towards others. Participants will be asked to respect clear physical and interpersonal boundaries throughout.
Water, herbal tea, tissues, cushions and blankets will be provided. Please allow space for a gentle evening afterwards where possible.
About the Creators
Dr Rosalind Watts created Pomegranate Grove as part of her wider work with ACER, a year-long connectedness and integration programme rooted in relationship with self, community and the living world.
Finn Petcher composed the music for the guided journey. The cooling-down section will also include live music.
Enter the Grove
Come if you are a woman carrying rage that has had nowhere safe to go.
Come if you are a man or ally willing to witness without turning away or making the experience about yourself.
Come to explore how expression, protection and attentive presence might allow women and men to meet differently.
The grove is a place for fury, safety and tenderness. All three belong here.
⚠️ Content note: This workshop explores women’s rage, grief, gender-based violence, harm to women’s bodies and lives, silence and powerlessness. Strong emotions, movement and vocal expression may arise during the guided journey.
About Dr Rosalind Watts

Dr Rosalind Watts is a psychedelic researcher and the founder of ACER, a twelve-month connectedness programme that supports people to deepen their relationships with themselves, their communities and the living world.
Her work grew out of interviews with people who had received psilocybin therapy for depression. What struck her was how consistently participants described their healing — not just as feeling better, but as moving from disconnection to connection: to themselves, to others, to the world around them.
Through ACER's community circles, embodied practices and work with the Celtic tree calendar, she continues to explore how those insights can become lasting, relational ways of living.
