Sacred Sounds: Overnight Sound Bath with Gongs & Live Music (Colet House)

One night only: sleep inside live sound at Colet House. Gongs, didgeridoo, harp, piano and singing bowls, 9pm until morning.

At my first gong bath I saw dinosaurs, as if I time travelled. So putting on a whole night of it feels a bit like a dream.

On Saturday 21 November, sound artists and musicians from different parts of the world are coming together in Barons Court for one long night of live music. Christian DiMarco is coming all the way from Melbourne. Alongside him there'll be crystal and Himalayan bowls, drums, chimes, flute, voice and other instruments from around the world.

You lie down, get cosy, and let it play. Some parts are big and grounding, others soft and slow. Most people sleep on and off, and that's completely fine.

How the night goes

8pm: arrive and set up your sleeping spot. Doors close at 9pm, and there's no entry after that.

9:15pm: a gentle guided breathwork to settle in.

9:30pm to 6:30am: the sound bath.

6:30 to 7am: silence and stillness.

7 to 7:30am: an optional sharing circle.

7:30 to 8am: pack up and head home.

I'd keep your Sunday free if you can. You might feel more tired than usual, and it's nice to have a slow day after.

What to bring

Something soft to lie on all night, like a padded camping mat or an air mattress. A sleeping bag or a warm blanket. Pillows. An eye mask. A water bottle or a flask. Comfy clothes. Snacks, but please no noisy packets. If you like, bring a journal, crystals or anything special to you.

Good to know

You don't need any experience with meditation or sound healing.

Complimentary herbal tea is provided, along with some snacks and refreshments, in the hangout room downstairs. Please eat a light meal before you come, and keep food out of the main room.

Phones need to be off or on airplane mode all night. If you really need yours, please go downstairs.

Sound healing is safe for most people, but it isn't for everyone. It's not suitable if you have a pacemaker, sound-sensitive epilepsy or a serious psychiatric condition, so please check with your healthcare provider. If you're pregnant and in your first trimester, please check with your care provider first. If you're under medical care or not sure, just get in touch.
