Moving away from performance, scales, lyrics to remember and notes to hit, we are not here to tame our voice or make it behave…
Instead, we co-create a safe and supportive space to playfully experiment, be curious, find our naturally wild and intuitive voice, release blocks and feel deeply.
Open to all
Can't sing? Love to sing? All voices, abilities and perceived inabilities welcome.
Let’s reclaim our voice as a sacred gateway:
- To connect and reconnect to ourselves, each other, Nature and the Divine
- To cultivate mindful presence, confidence, healthy nervous system regulation, and transmute emotional wounds into well-being.
- To unlock flow states, the ability to channel, improvise, and unleash our spontaneous creativity and intuition
- To enter altered states of consciousness, carry our prayers, and cast the healing and manifesting magic of our attention and intention
- To authentically express our experience, wishes and boundaries, and share our unique and much-needed gifts into the world
- To experience freedom, play, fun and silliness.
Sessions include:
- Gentle and playful vocal warm-ups with embodied movement practices.
- Meditative and somatic practices using voice, attention and intention as tools to regulate the nervous system and work with energy.
- Accessible introductions to various singing techniques from around the world, from shamanic and indigenous styles to toning, nature sounds, jazz scat and beatboxing.
- Collective vocal improvisation jam to co-create music together, supported by games, tips and tricks to help us explore our way into group improvisation.
- Sound journey: from relaxing sound baths to shamanic drum journeys, with some guided visualisation conducive to meditative trance states. Kat and guest musicians will layer vocal harmonies with world music instruments and shamanic drum beats on the live loop machine. An opportunity to relax and integrate, or journey deep with intention.
- Social tea break to gather ourselves and connect as a community.

REVIEWS:
Saffran says:
Heart opening, voice opening, beautifully held: I loved the session I did with Kat. She helped us do things we'd never done before, while always feeling safe and nurtured. I couldn't recommend it more for those who want to explore their voices (whether they are"singers" or "not singers" 😊 )

FACILITATOR

Kat Bonny
Witchy Songstress, Voice Activation facilitator, and neurodivergent mystic living with chronic pain.
From folk blues songwriting to shamanic vocal improvisation, sprinkled with a little Arctic beatboxing, polyphonic overtones, nature sounds and old-time jazz, her musical expression journeys through varied landscapes, taking a collection of instruments for the ride: from piano to frame drum, vocal harmonies layered as sound journeys on her live looping machine, to the old raggedy travelling banjo.
With a passion for rewilding the voice using vocal improvisation to express our creativity from a more embodied, spontaneous and authentic place, she likes to design singing workshops exploring unusual ways to use our voice, from indigenous singing techniques from around the world to nature sounds, jazz scat, beatboxing, and the art of collaborative vocal improvisation, infused with shamanic and somatic practices.
Her ongoing healing journey from chronic pain and complex trauma, as well as her experience with shamanic trance states deeply informs her practice, exploring how voice, breath, movement, rhythm, attention and intention affect our nervous systems, states of consciousness and well-being. So that music becomes medicine for our creative expression, self-empowerment, healing and spiritual connection.
