Dog owners in Littlehempston can begin an eight-week training programme today with the Acorns Puppy Course. Designed for puppies under 26 weeks old, the gentle, science-based sessions take place in a secure field to help owners teach basic training exercises and raise sociable, responsive pets.

Later in the day, the Moor Imagination Centre in Buckfastleigh hosts Shapeshifting into the future: from the Mabinogion to Dartmoor. The evening gathering features a talk by educator Alan Swindell, who draws on a tale from the Mabinogion to explore adaptability, modern polarisation and the future of Dartmoor, followed by a shared dinner and whole-group discussion. Meanwhile in Ipplepen, adults seeking spontaneous creative expression can attend Bears Cave: Ritual Theatre. Guided by facilitator Alana Bloom, the pay-what-you-can gathering requires no prior performance experience and combines movement, somatics, meditation and ritual theatre in an open circle.
