If you've always wanted to create art but never felt you could, this is for you.
This four-week journey breaks through fear and self-doubt, to discover the courage, the confidence and the tools to express your inner world. To feel that you are an artist!
Through a unique combination of meditation, self-enquiry and expressive art practices, you will connect to your creativity, and the sacred artist within.
Each session will guide you through fun yet profound practices. Using an array of materials including watercolour, pencil, pen and charcoal, you'll immediately start to develop confidence in this hands-on, supportive and structured environment.
You will discover that comparison is the thief of joy and that YOU are an artist.
Course Structure
We meet every Monday from the 24th of May until the 14th of June, 7pm to 9.30pm BST on zoom.
Week 1 - The Artist is in You
Together we will explore and expand our conceptions of art, drawing inspiration from artists who have broken the mould and found their own unique way. Using introductory practices that open our infinitely creative well, you will begin the process of realising your artistic value, and the simple joy of putting pen to paper.
Week 2 - The Inner Critic
This week we will transform our relationship with our inner art critics, and quieten any voices that believe ‘you’re not good enough’. This will allow more space for your creative self to flourish.
Week 3 - The World as Your Muse
We will discover how easy it is to find inspiration when we know where to look. Drawing on objects, people, places, shapes and emotions, we will examine the world around us with our artist lense on.
Week 4 - The Art of Emotion
We will look at the emotion behind creating. Using meditation and embodiment practices, we will feel into what is alive for us, and translate that onto paper, playing with colours and expressive techniques to create art that speaks.
“I used to feel that if I wasn’t producing Picasso grade art than it wasn’t worthwhile. Now I make art for me, not to please anyone else. I’m so present with what I’m doing, there is no room for the outside world. I’m happy. I’m just doing. Creating art I become my own therapist, my own friend, my own spiritual teacher.”
- Jade

Course Philosophy:
"Everyone is an artist. The daily decisions we make, large or small, mould our lives into what they are. Every day is a blank page, waiting to be turned into a work of art. Contrary to what many people think, creating art is a skill we can all learn, much the same as learning to walk, talk, read or write.
Art is not about the end result. It’s about exploring your emotional life and expressing your unique relationship with the world. I will share my journey with you, and some of the tools and practices that have helped me to follow my desires and become the artist I want to be.
I look forward to enticing your inner lost artist out of the shadows, softening your blocks, building your confidence, and allowing your creative being to flourish.”
This course will help you…
- Creatively express your emotions and work through anxiety, stress and disconnection
- Deeply connect with the inner landscape of your body and move with heightened awareness
- Unlock blocks that are holding you back in art and life
- Reconnect you with your innate creativity
- Connect with like-minded people, and support each other in your journeys
We'll build a supportive container to feel and express our fears, blocks and dive into the endless creative well running within all of us.
What you will need
Paper or sketchbook
Pens, pencils.
Something to create colour.
A curiosity for both your inner and outer worlds
For colour, you could use anything, you like, but we recommend watercolour since it always looks good, so it's a great medium to start with.
About your facilitator
Jade Wade is a self-taught multidisciplinary artist with a wide repertoire of talents including singing, dance and visual art.
https://www.jadewade.co.uk/
Jade began expressing herself through art from a very young age until offered a space on a fine art degree at the prestigious Goldsmith University. She felt the academic system was too restrictive however, and when it began to sap away the natural joy, freedom and healing which had always been her main motivator, she stopped making art altogether.
6 years later she was hit by a London double-decker bus and experienced a life-changing near-death experience. Forced to sit still for the first time, Jade's recovery lay in the paintbrush that she had abandoned for all those years. During the next few months, Jade developed her unique style of watercolour art. To her, this medium was a form of therapy, that allowed her to transform the trauma of the event, into deep understanding and insight.
As well as working as an artist, Jade is the lead singer/songwriter of the Neo-Soul band, ‘The Odd 910’, performing and touring around the UK. Their first single ‘Break ‘em’ was picked up by BBC Introducing, and broadcast nationwide. Their first album is due to be released late 2021. Jade is also an avid explorer of consciousness aided by a solid meditation practice drawing on non-dual traditions from around the globe. The combination of her near-death experience and some remarkable shifts in her every day awareness precipitated by art and meditation, Jade is now inspired to share the skills and experience that she has acquired so that others may learn to embrace their artistic side and realise their true nature.

What a delicious experience! So novel and liberating to be able to just make any sort of vocal sound in the company of other people doing the same. And surprisingly intimate too - how we each sound reflects how we feel and then we can hear how other people feel and we can react to that, try to harmonise, make space for it, reinforce it, whatever. And the whole time we were all co-creating this magical sound. The world needs more of this!

I went in expecting nothing for the event and was pleasantly surprised how good it made me feel once I left my anxieties and judgments at the door. Stefano made the group feel comfortable and never felt like anything was rushed. Was quite emotional for me surprisingly but a lovely container was built so it was lovely experience.

Talullah is a gifted facilitator. The workshop had lots of really practical tips. It blended playful interaction while the participants were invited to express and witness their inner emotional journey during the process. As a hypnotherapist, I often help people with self-esteem, so I love her song 'I am enough'. To actually sing the words is powerful medicine and therapy, so I fully recommend anyone to experience this.
