"… one of the most captivating conversations I've witnessed. I felt fully present, hanging onto every word, as well as the meaning, as if I was participating in that conversation myself. It was an experience I can't recall having had before…
…showed me a new avenue towards something more meaningful, it felt like he opened a door for me that showed me a new way of being "In the World". I am looking forward to how that perspective unfolds and deepens within me over the next few days." - David Rautenbach
Part of the online event series With Reality in Mind, join us for a landmark dialogue between two profound contemporary thinkers delving ever deeper into the relationship between consciousness and reality.
We're excited to host two of today's most influential philosophers of consciousness as they explore the nature of reality and awareness. Author of "Being Aware of Being Aware" Rupert Spira and "The Idea of the World" philosopher Bernardo Kastrup return for their third online dialogue with us, deepening their profound exploration of non-dual awareness and idealist metaphysics.
We'll open with a guided contemplation from Rupert, followed by a dialogue and ending with a Q&A.
While both thinkers share common ground in challenging the materialist worldview, their nuanced approaches to understanding consciousness offer fascinating points of convergence and distinction. Watch as they examine questions at the heart of human experience: What is the relationship between awareness and experience? How does the apparent multiplicity of consciousness arise from unity? What is the nature of the self?
Building on their previous dialogues, this conversation promises fresh insights into ancient wisdom through contemporary understanding. Don't miss this meeting of minds between two leading voices in the contemporary non-dual and idealist traditions.

About Rupert Spira

From an early age, Rupert Spira was deeply interested in the nature of reality and the source of lasting peace and happiness. After spending twenty years immersed in the teachings of classical Advaita Vedanta, he met his teacher, Francis Lucille, who introduced him to the Direct Path approach whereby one may recognise the source of peace and happiness in oneself. Rupert has written several books and holds regular meetings and retreats online, as well as in Europe and the United States. He is also a noted potter, trained in the British Studio Pottery school, with work in public and private collections. www.rupertspira.com

About Bernardo Kastrup

Bernardo Kastrup's work has been leading the modern renaissance of the philosophical position, ‘metaphysical idealism’ that reality is essentially mental, an appearance in ‘mind.’ Bernardo has a Ph.D. in philosophy (ontology, philosophy of mind) and another Ph.D. in computer engineering (reconfigurable computing, artificial intelligence). As a scientist, Bernardo has worked for the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) and the Philips Research Laboratories (where the 'Casimir Effect' of Quantum Field Theory was discovered). Formulated in detail in many academic papers and books, his ideas have been featured on Scientific American, the Institute of Art and Ideas, the Blog of the American Philosophical Association and Big Think, among others. Bernardo's most recent book is The Idea of the World: A multi-disciplinary argument for the mental nature of reality. Amir runs Adventures in Awareness to foster connections between meditators, scientists and philosophers to generate new insights that can benefit ordinary people. Through discussion, events and courses he hosts explorations in what it means to be a ‘modern mystic’ - balancing the challenges and gifts of modern life whilst alive to timeless mystery.
He worked for 20 years as a choreographer, performer and dancer on everything from MARVEL movies to Royal Opera House productions, specialising in contemporary dance, contact improvisation and Argentine tango.
He remains interested into how insight can transform how we move, relate and live.

Mark on Headless Way: A day with Richard Lang in London | 5 days ago
Another fantastic day hosted by Richard. It’s hard to describe the sheer joy of attending these workshops. I almost leave with a sense of awe, that’s hard to describe. Something shifts within me and I’m left with a gift that has no ending. It’s so wonderful to be in the company of others with this sense of curiosity. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful ambassador of this gift such as Richard, who has dedicated his life to the discoveries of Douglas Harding. Whatever your spiritual background or non spiritual background this can only enhance the journey of life. I cannot recommend this enough. Huge thanks to Richard 🙏

Richard is fantastic and the headless way is a brilliant method to seeing who we really are. If a guru type figure was ever supposed to epitomise the freedom and happiness that we all want it is Richard. Non-stop laughs throughout the day and plenty of experiments. Would definitely recommend.

Natalia Szewczyk on Freedom Beyond Thought: Nondual Meditation & Inquiry with James Cooke | 15 days ago
This was a highly practical workshop where we performed 4 meditations exploring the awareness of "self" and our consciousness. James mentioned a couple of meditation techniques/tools that I started using since the workshop. His knowledge is just incredible and he is a very considerate facilitator. I really enjoyed the workshop and would definitely attend again.

Hannah Moss on Ways of Looking: A 6-week Meditation Course | 19 days ago
Such a great course! Mark is an expert facilitator who holds the space so well – with passion, kindness and thoughtful insight. I found the material and sessions very well structured, with plenty of time for teachings, practice and discussion. A great introduction to Rob Burbea's teachings covering lots of material but without being overwhelming. It's definitely inspired me to dive deeper! Thank you 🙏

Thank you very much Richard, Faye and all the team at Brimpt Farm! The retreat was so much fun, deeply fulfilling, meeting so many wonderful people and sharing in their Headlessness! I highly recommend this retreat, and the Headless Way, for anyone who wants to realise their true nature, smile, laugh, and make loving connections.
Any thoughts on the food? Amazing vegan and vegetarian food served three times a day. I normally don't eat breakfast but it was so delicious I couldn't help myself! |
