Ecotherapy Workshop: Mindfulness, Embodiment and Healing in Nature with Dr. Adrian Harris

Join Dr. Adrian Harris for a day of ecotherapy on Hampstead Heath, exploring how we can deepen our connection to nature, to ourselves, and to each other through embodied, sensory practice.

Ecotherapy invites us to step outside the therapy room and into the living world, using the land itself as a co-facilitator for reflection, healing and presence. Across the day, Adrian will guide the group through a series of practices designed to slow us down, sharpen our attention, and reconnect us with the more-than-human world around us. Together, we will experience the restorative and healing power of the nature using a variety of tools, guides and techniques drawing from paganism, Buddhism and psychedelic perspectives on the natural world and your place within in it. He'll also be sharing a novel and unexpected use for your smartphone as part of the day's practice, so don't leave it at home!

We'll meet on Hampstead Heath at 11am and finish by 4:30pm. The exact meeting point will be shared by email closer to the date.

Places are strictly limited to 10, so please book early if you'd like to join us.

What to expect

There are no unusual hazards on the Heath, but as with any time outdoors you can expect insects, nettles, brambles and minor trip hazards underfoot. We hope the weather will be good at that time of year , but we'd recommend bringing a light raincoat just in case.

• Something to sit on (a plastic bag will do!)
• Food to share at lunch
• Your smartphone

Hamstead Heath - the meet location for this workshop will be shared with ticketholders via email and is easily accessible via public transport.

Your Facilitator

Dr. Adrian Harris is an ecopsychologist, psychotherapist, and psychedelic integration coach who has been involved with ecotherapy for over twenty years. He is the author of Nature Connection: Remembering Wholeness and Lead Editor of the European Journal of Ecopsychology.

Adrian has been taking psychedelics since his early 20s. He joined the Synthesis Institute as Director of Ecopsychology in 2020 and subsequently became a Learning Mentor on their first Psychedelic Practitioner Training. He also worked as a Retreat Facilitator with Synthesis until February 2023. He is a Guest Lecturer on the PGCert Psychedelics: Mind, Medicine, and Culture at the University of Exeter and a member of the University's clinical research team and recently joined Exeter Psychedelic Interdisciplinary Centre (EPIC) as an Associate Research Fellow.

Your Organiser 

Ryan is the Online Events Coordinator for The Psychedelic Society and a life-long psychedelic enthusiast. He is completing his MSc in Psychedelics: Mind, Medicine & Culture at The University of Exeter where he specialised in the extra-pharmacological factors affecting psychedelic assisted therapy. Ryan also sits at the intersection of psychedelic research, education and therapy. He works as a Research Assistant at Pneuma Science, Consultant at Psilonautica and Trip Sitter at Beautiful Space.
