🌑 A Day-Long Journey Through Death and Transformation

Why do we fear death?

Why does our culture avoid speaking about it?

What can we learn if we lean closer?

Could death be more than an end, perhaps even a teacher?

This full-day conference will bring together explorers, researchers, ritualists, and futurists as we discuss and honour Death: the fundamental essence of nature’s cycles, yet often an avoided conversation in modern Western society.

Following the Samhain weekend, we’ll move beyond convention and dive into Death, bringing to light perceptions and beliefs that traverse the globe and across time. Our diverse line-up of experts will explore everything from sacred ancestral rituals to local traditions and the potential of AI. 

Expect a blend of talks, panel discussions, gentle ritual, and space for reflection.We’ll also have a Chill room with Tarot, books to read, and time to relax. Food and drinks will be available from The Baths Cafe.

This will be an immersive experience designed to shift how you see life, death, and transformation.

Drinks, meals and snacks are available to purchase at The Baths House. Alternatively, there are plenty of restaurants around the area. Please note that this is an alcohol free event.

🌙 Evening Celebration: Dance with Death

After a day of depth, reflection and dialogue, we invite you to release and celebrate. A space of joy, embodiment and community - with music, dancing, and a SENTIA drink  included in your evening ticket.

The evening will begin with tribal sounds from Dembis Thioung, an Ancestral West African Rhythm Keeper, who will open the space by weaving rhythms that honor death, the spiritual realm.

He will then be joined by ceremonialist Mira Khanya, who will guide us through dance and ritual movement to shake off, release, and integrate all that the day has stirred.

At 10:30pm, we welcome a LIVE Bwiti concert directly from Gabon, bringing the resonant sounds of the mugongo (mouth bow) and other traditional instruments.

We will close the evening in unity, with voices joined together in mantra, carrying us into stillness and collective release, alchemising grief into joy and happiness.

SPEAKERS AND FACILITATORS

Bruce Parry

Bruce Parry is a filmmaker, author and explorer best known for his BBC documentary series Tribe, in which he lived with Indigenous peoples around the world, participating in many of their rituals around life and death. His time among such people, as well as his exploration with contemporary storytellers such as  Stephen Jenkinson, has deeply shaped his understanding of death, ritual and belonging. Bruce is currently writing a new book on equality and human evolution.

Tree Carr

Tree is a published author and TEDx speaker who works in the field of Transpersonal Psychology with a focus on dreams, death, altered states of consciousness, and psychedelic-assisted therapy. She is a graduate of the Alef Trust in their programme for Psychedelics, Altered States & Transpersonal Psychology and is a CPD Crossfields Institute Certified Death Doula. Her other studies include Ecology, Spirituality and the Paranormal with Dr. Jack Hunter at The Sophia Centre of the Study of Cosmology in Culture, University of Wales Trinity Saint David and Mediumship & Creativity at the world-renowned Arthur Findlay College of Psychic Science. 

Tree is a teacher at the acclaimed College of Psychic Studies in London, a faculty member at The Magickal Path School of Witchcraft in New York and teacher at The Psychedelic Society UK. Tree has also tutored students at the Royal College of Art (RCA), guiding them through lucid dreaming practices for creativity and inspiration. She also teaches a wide variety of esoteric courses on her own platform.

Darren Le Baron

Darren Le Baron is an educator specialising in mycology and psychedelic research, and is based between the UK and the Caribbean. 

Known around the world for his Shroomshop Master classes and mushroom educational programs, he is a keen cultivator and teacher. His achievements include launching the UK's first accredited Mycology and Mushroom Cultivation course for schools and young people in 2021, providing hands-on experience to empower school children and at-risk youth.

A respected voice in the global psychedelic community, Darren is a regular speaker at major conferences and festivals including Breaking Convention, All Things Fungi, Ozora, and Lightning in a Bottle. Through his work with The Psychedelic Society and other organizations, he continues to inform and empower individuals from diverse backgrounds to cope with social challenges and contribute to community development as well as self-improvement in an innovative, creative, culturally-aware style.

Aluba Fenix

Aluba Fénix is the Founder and Purpose Guardian of Vivid Imagination, a leadership coaching and training organisation whose purpose is to inspire people to answer the call to authentic leadership and to liberate the imagination, creative potential and performance of  teams. 

Aluba began his career as a Sport Psychologist working with athletes to help them prepare mentally for competition. He then shifted career to become a corporate athlete and spent 20+ years working for a number of large Californian technology organisations. In 2012, he experienced a period of burnout and this led him to explore plant medicines as a way to recalibrate his relationship to life. Today Aluba lives in Portugal with his wife Pelly. Together they run Total Reset Retreats, bringing the magic of IBOGA to the world. Aluba has two children who live in the UK and one grandchild. 

Kaz Goodweather

Kaz Goodweather  is a clinical herbalist, author, and co-founder of Sensory Solutions Herbal Evolution CIC. As one half of the Seed Sistas, Kaz combines over 20 years of herbal expertise with science, folklore, and a touch of magic. She co-authored The Sensory Herbal Handbook and Poison Prescriptions, sharing plant wisdom through books, podcasts, and international workshops. Through her social enterprise, online learning spaces like the Coven of Herbal Secrets, and immersive events, Kaz guides others to connect deeply with the healing and transformative power of plants—bringing curiosity, creativity, and enchantment to every interaction. Seedsistas.co.uk

Batuhan Bintas

Batuhan Bintas is a creative technologist, speaker, and AI animator whose work explores the intersection of altered states of consciousness, mythology, ancient civilizations, and emerging technologies such as machine consciousness. 

A participant in the groundbreaking DMT research at Imperial College London, Batuhan brings visionary experiences to life through immersive AI-generated animation and interactive storytelling. 

He has shared his insights on the psychedelic realm, digital identity, and the future of consciousness at leading festivals and conferences including Boom Festival, Glastonbury, Equinox, Ozora, Occulture, Breaking Convention, and many more. 

His work has been featured by renowned author Graham Hancock, and through ongoing documentary and animation projects, Batuhan maps the symbolic worlds of timeless mysticism, ancient civilizations, and modern machine intelligence, inviting audiences to reimagine the boundaries of reality.

Yaw Fosu

Yaw comes from a lineage of healers stretching back over 500 years. As a Reiki Master and Quantum Energy Healer, he combines ancient wisdom with modern insight. He is also a dynamic workshop facilitator and regular speaker on metaphysics and African spiritual practices, celebrated for presentations that spark curiosity and inspire the mind to explore realities beyond the ordinary.

Rosanna Ellis

Rosanna Ellis is a Nurse with over fifteen years of experience in end-of-life care and holds an MSc in Palliative Care. A trained Yoga Nidra teacher and Systemic Family Constellations practitioner, she passionately believes that embracing our mortality allows us to live richer, fuller, and more meaningful lives. Rosanna has co-facilitated death-focused workshops and rituals at Medicine Festival and co-founded Essence Medicine, an initiative providing psycho-spiritual care to people facing life-threatening illness and those exploring their own impermanence.
 

Mira Khanya

Mira crafts immersive dance journeys, drawing on the wisdom of Movement Medicine while infusing her own unique approach. With a rich background in dance, theatre, and the healing arts, she intuitively guides transformative experiences - gateways to connection - while weaving a tapestry of global sounds with deep intention and reverence for life.

Inviting expressive movement and embodied freedom, her work fosters community, togetherness, and compassionate presence - with ourselves, each other, and the wider web of life. Mira collaborates with festivals and events across the UK and internationally, bringing her offerings into spaces of healing, transformation, and celebration.

Dembis Thioung

Dembis is an Ancestral West African Rhythm Keeper, master drum-maker, and percussionist originally from Senegal. Specialising in Dundun, Djembe, Sabar, Calabash and Asico drums, Dembis bridges tradition and innovation. His artistry connects hearts through the primal power of rhythm, creating unforgettable moments of unity.

Carlotta Artuso

Carlotta is an Event Coordinator at The Psychedelic Society, with a deep passion for nature, personal and collective growth, mystical experiences and food (Italian roots play a big role here!). Psychedelics have profoundly transformed her life, opening her mind to new perspectives and deeper self-awareness, allowing her to break free from the 9-5 grind and to launch her own PR and Events company -  Carlotta PR. She believes in their potential to heal and transform, and she's passionate about advocating for their safe, intentional use to inspire positive change and open new pathways of consciousness.

Martha Allitt

Martha is a freelance writer and journalist specialising in psychedelics and mental health. She has a degree in neuroscience and frequently writes about alternative treatments, bridging modern research with spiritual and traditional beliefs. Martha is also co-owner of the UK Psychedelic Society and volunteers with the psychedelics welfare organisation PsyCare. She is currently making a documentary about Datura, a deadly nightshade plant, known for bizarre hallucinogenic experiences.

Outside her psychedelic work, Martha enjoys yoga, music, and doodling.

PAR (Psilocybin Access Rights) are a group of volunteers campaigning for psilocybin access rights in the UK. Co-founded by Tara Austin in 2022, it aims to change psilocybin’s legal classification so that it can be used more freely for therapy and research.
