"Don't make the body do
what the spirit does best, and don't put a big load
on the spirit that the body could easily carry.." - Rumi
Wouldn't it be great if your most profound awakenings, expanded states and deepest insights could be part of day to day life?
Yet at times it can feel like the desire for a ‘rich life’ requires a very different perspective than a spiritual one.
The Hierarchy of Heaven and Earth offers a profound and unique vision that reconciles ultimate realisation with the realities of work, family & relationships.
Join Richard Lang and Amir Giles in an online discussion, exploring a wise, compassionate and exciting perspective on reality, entirely rooted in observations you can verify for yourself.
The afternoon will involve a dialogue, q&a and optional group discussion towards the end. Recording will be sent to any ticket holders who can't make it live or who purchase access after the event.
We had a blast in this conversation, discussing amongst other things:
- Douglas Harding and the writing of The Hierarchy of Heaven and Earth
- The hard problem of consciousness: you only know consciousness
- The spirit of wonder and curiosity about your existence
- The Law of Reflection and Projection
- Distance, Time, Evolution
- Mind & Body = experience of the world and the world's experience of you
- The stars look down upon us
- The here and there - oneness and multiplicity
- The self is known via the not-self
- Interdependency
- The the traditional journey of the mystic
- Your unique contribution

About Richard Lang
Richard is the world’s foremost proponent of Headless Way, interviewed by Sam Harris on his podcast and now features as a teacher on the Waking Up meditation app. He was a longtime student of Douglas Harding, the author of On Having No Head, among other books. Richard has written several books, including Seeing Who You Really Are, The Man with No Head, and Open to the Source: Selected Teachings of Douglas Harding. In 1996, Richard co-founded Shollond Trust, a charity created to help share Harding’s vision as widely as possible.
About Amir Giles
Amir runs Adventures in Awareness to foster connections between meditators, scientists and philosophers to generate new insights that can benefit ordinary people. Through discussion, events and courses he hosts explorations in what it means to be a ‘modern mystic’ - balancing the challenges and gifts of modern life whilst alive to timeless mystery.
He worked for 20 years as a choreographer, performer and dancer on everything from MARVEL movies to Royal Opera House productions, specialising in contemporary dance, contact improvisation and Argentine tango.
He remains interested into how insight can transform how we move, relate and live.

Another fantastic day hosted by Richard. It’s hard to describe the sheer joy of attending these workshops. I almost leave with a sense of awe, that’s hard to describe. Something shifts within me and I’m left with a gift that has no ending. It’s so wonderful to be in the company of others with this sense of curiosity. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful ambassador of this gift such as Richard, who has dedicated his life to the discoveries of Douglas Harding. Whatever your spiritual background or non spiritual background this can only enhance the journey of life. I cannot recommend this enough. Huge thanks to Richard 🙏

Richard is fantastic and the headless way is a brilliant method to seeing who we really are. If a guru type figure was ever supposed to epitomise the freedom and happiness that we all want it is Richard. Non-stop laughs throughout the day and plenty of experiments. Would definitely recommend.

Thank you very much Richard, Faye and all the team at Brimpt Farm! The retreat was so much fun, deeply fulfilling, meeting so many wonderful people and sharing in their Headlessness! I highly recommend this retreat, and the Headless Way, for anyone who wants to realise their true nature, smile, laugh, and make loving connections.
Any thoughts on the food? Amazing vegan and vegetarian food served three times a day. I normally don't eat breakfast but it was so delicious I couldn't help myself! |

A really connective and enlightening experience in a beautiful location. Richard is amazing and our group became good friends. I am able to access my headless space anytime now which is a great tool.
Any thoughts about the retreat structure, eg balance of free time and facilitated sessions I enjoyed the ratio of sessions to free time. There were also optional activities available during the mid day break on most days. Any thoughts on the food? The food was amazing. Kate cooks delicious vegetarian food. Really varied and interesting with locally sourced salads. |
