A series of embodied techniques to release emotions from the body. 

About

Join us for 90 minutes of deep emotional processing and release of emotions unconsciously stored in the system. 

Working with somatic practices for dropping us into the felt sense, we begin to truly feel and process what's alive in our bodies in the present moment, deepening our ability to observe sensations without reaction. By doing this, we can develop a deeper capacity to navigate life's challenges, with more inner space and  conscious awareness. 

Delving into emotional charges that feel particularly stuck, we will work with Somatic Experiencing techniques from Peter Levine's work to "dislodge" trauma stored in the system, simultaneously creating more safety in the body. 

Weaving breathwork, movement and vocal practices, we will intentionally open up the body and allow physical and emotional tension  to loosen up, move and “complete” on a cellular level. 

Accessing deep meditation, we will drop into a place of  consciously observing the landscape of our internal experience, becoming less attached and more connected to a place within us beyond fear.

Throughout the session, we will anchor in the embodied experience of safety and learn practices for grounding. This is imperative for integrating deep emotional work without reactivating trauma. 

We will end the session by grounding and resourcing ourselves and connecting to the medicine of our hearts and deeper selves.

Your Facilitator

Laura has facilitated with Psychedelic Society since 2017. After a decade of working with shamanic plant medicine, she offers transformational spaces designed to explore the darker parts of our psyche in order to experience deeper love, expansion and liberation. Currently she is studying to be a doctor of the Amazonian Master Plants and lives part time in the Amazon Rainforest with an indigenous maestro. 

Over a decade ago, she travelled the Americas working in NGOs focusing on ecological sustainability before discovering the ancient keys to the psyche found in the plants of the rainforest. Experiencing a deeper sense of reality inspired the creation of transformative arts company Infinite Experience, who travelled the world with their interactive theatre piece designed to transcend separateness. She now holds workshops, ceremonies, retreats and 1-1 sessions designed to connect people to their deeper essence guided by her experience and years of training in healing modalities.

• Diploma in Craniosacral therapy - 1 year - CCST. In depth work with the Nervous System (anatomy & pathology); trauma informed study

• The Wisdom of Trauma course with Gabor Mate 

• Over 10 years working with shamanic diets, techniques and practice

• Somatic Experiencing - short course - Peter Levine 

• Reclaiming your six body wisdom areas course with Suzanne Scurlock

• Masters in Acting from East 15 (Alexandra technique; somatic practice & training; Meisner technique; physical theatre; body connection work; Clown studies; Bouffon)

• BA (hons) Philosophy and Theology - consciousness studies/metaphysics - University of Nottingham and Melbourne
