A contemporary floorwork workshop exploring softness, strength, and our relationship with gravity.

We’ll begin by warming the body through continuous motion, embodying what it is to pour like liquid chocolate — fluid, grounded, and alive. From there, we’ll research different tools for exploring the floor and how our bodies can and do interact with it — learning to fall, rolling through space, and finding the balance between surrender and control.

Through guided movement explorations and exercises, we’ll build towards a short choreography that weaves together the day’s discoveries. Finally, we’ll move into a score of improvisation, inviting everything we’ve learnt to emerge through free, embodied dance.

This workshop invites movers of all backgrounds to get curious, soften, and build trust with the ground beneath them.
