Imagine an ancient way to design & grow our food & medicine…

Workshop: Food Forest Walk & Design
Date: Wednesday, 25 September 2024
Time: 6:00-7:30 PM
Location: Reimagine Co (206 Piccadilly St, London ON)

Join the Institute for Community Sustainability and Reimagine Co as we begin our food forest journey.

Led by our friends at The Living Centre, this walk will teach you the design and benefits of food forests - and practical steps for creating your own. Learn how to integrate diverse local and native plant species, and build a resilient and productive ecosystem.

We are in the process of re-landscaping the front of our building and introducing native medicinal and edible plant species. We'll be sharing our journey on our socials and warmly invite you to join us.

Following this walk, we'll share our proposed garden design and there'll soon be opportunities to get your hands dirty and be part of the transformation!

This Food Forest walk is our first step along the permaculture path. We look forward to seeing you there!

The Institute for Community Sustainability consistently delivers outstanding experiences, particularly through its popular Repair Café events, which are lauded for their efficiency, friendly and knowledgeable volunteers, and significant positive environmental impact by diverting items from landfills. Attendees frequently praise the welcoming atmosphere, the success in getting items repaired, and the educational aspect where they learn new skills. Beyond Repair Cafés, other programs like "Grow Cook Learn" workshops and "Self Love - A Mini Journey" are celebrated for their informative content, engaging presentations, and ability to foster community connection and personal growth, highlighting a strong commitment to both practical sustainability and holistic well-being.
