In recent weeks, Bryan Johnson livestreamed a high-dose 5-MeO-DMT experience to hundreds of thousands of viewers - bringing one of the most powerful psychedelics into the mainstream spotlight.
The broadcast has sparked widespread curiosity, debate, and concern. From bold claims around longevity and “brain resets,” to questions about safety, dosing, and public influence, it raises an urgent question:
What happens when something this intense, personal, and poorly understood goes viral?
This rapid-response panel, hosted by the Psychedelic Society, brings together leading voices across research, therapy, and harm reduction to unpack the moment and provide grounded, evidence-informed perspectives.
What we’ll explore
- What 5-MeO-DMT is—and how it differs from other psychedelics
- How Johnson’s 27mg protocol compares to clinical research
- The risks associated with high-dose use
- Why “set and setting” and expectation matter
- The role of preparation and integration
- Psychedelics and longevity: what does the science actually say?
- The cultural shift toward psychedelics as optimisation tools
- What responsible engagement with these substances really looks like
Why attend?
As psychedelics continue to move into the mainstream, conversations are happening faster than the science can keep up. This event offers a chance to step back from the hype and hear from professionals working directly in the field.
Whether you’re a clinician, researcher, or simply curious, this panel aims to provide clarity, context, and critical insight into one of the most talked-about moments in psychedelics this year.
Can’t attend the live event? No problem — all ticket holders will get access to the recording.
