THE WEB BETWEEN US:

Psychedelics, Disconnection & Collective Care

What if addiction, mental health struggles, and social fragmentation are not isolated problems - but symptoms of a deeper disconnection from one another?

We live in a time when more and more people are struggling with loneliness, addiction, poor mental health and a sense of not belonging. At the same time, the systems designed to support us are increasingly stretched, leaving many people caught between recognising they need help and actually receiving it.

What happens in that space?

And what might change if we stopped thinking about care as something that only happens through professional intervention, and started recognising the power of ordinary human connection?

The Web Between Us invites us to widen the lens - exploring what addiction, psychedelics, recovery, and mental health can teach us about the communities we create, the systems we rely on, and our capacity to hold one another through difficult times.

About

This thought-provoking evening explores the relationship between disconnection, addiction, psychedelics and collective care.

We’ll look beyond the idea that healing happens solely within the individual, and ask what role relationships, community and belonging play in whether meaningful change can actually take root.

Drawing on lived experience, harm reduction, social insight and the emerging conversation around psychedelics, we’ll explore what it means to support one another - particularly in the spaces where formal services cannot always reach.

What does it really mean to hold space for another person?

Can ordinary acts of presence and connection make a meaningful difference to someone in crisis?

And if psychedelics can open a door to new ways of seeing ourselves and our lives, what determines whether we are actually able to walk through that door - and stay there?

Rather than presenting community as an abstract ideal, the evening will explore what genuine collective care can look like in practice, and what might become possible if we each recognised that we have a role to play in the wellbeing of the people around us.

What to expect

This thought-provoking evening combines lived experience, social insight and community reflection.

You’ll be invited to:

  • Explore addiction and mental health through the lens of disconnection, belonging and community
  • Consider what it means to hold space for someone - not as a professional intervention, but simply as one human acknowledging another
  • Explore why low-level community support can make a meaningful difference, particularly in the gap between reaching out for help and actually receiving it
  • Consider how psychedelics can open a door to transformation, and why the people and communities around us may determine whether we can walk through it and stay
  • Discover what genuine community holding looks like in practice, and why it is different from the way “community” is often used
  • Explore the relationship between individual healing and the wider social systems we live within
  • Consider how showing up for one another, without waiting for a qualification or professional title, might reduce isolation and ease pressure on overstretched services
  • Reflect on the small, ordinary acts of presence and care that can make struggle feel less isolating

There is no need to have personal experience with psychedelics, addiction or mental health services to take part.

This is an invitation to think differently about care, community and recovery - and about our own place in one another’s lives.

Your Speaker

Amanda Guzinska has spent years on the frontline of psychedelic and festival culture, leading crisis support, de-escalation, and welfare provision through PsyCare UK, a peer-led harm reduction charity built by the community it serves. Her work has put her in the room for addiction, breakdown, and everything in between, shaping a conviction that runs through everything she does: disconnection, not lack of insight, is what keeps people stuck.

Amanda now leads PsyCare's next chapter, exploring how the same model of honest, non-judgemental, community-held care could reach beyond festivals and into everyday mental health provision.

Come and explore the web between us.

Come to question what we mean by care, community and recovery.

Come to consider what happens when we stop seeing struggle as something we have to face alone.

And come to wonder what might become possible when we recognise the quiet ways we hold one another:

that none of us heal, recover or belong entirely alone.
