Argentine Tango – Introductory Práctica

A space to practise, not a milonga or social dance evening.

We believe the práctica is at the heart of learning Tango. Classes introduce us to new ideas and movements, but it is through practice that we integrate them into our dancing, develop our musicality and begin to explore the dance more fully.

The práctica gives us the time and space to experiment, make mistakes and discover our own dancing.

The studio has a large mirror and dance barres, suitable for individual practice — working on adornments, posture and technique — as well as partner practice.

Some weeks guidance will be available from a teacher or designated experienced dancer. Other weeks the práctica will be unguided.

Coming Alone or With a Partner

You are equally welcome to practise alone or with a partner. Those coming with a partner may wish to practise exclusively together, while others may be happy to practise with different dancers.

The práctica guarantees a space to practise, not a dance partner. Please respect how others choose to use the space.

Don't be shy about asking someone if they'd like to practise a particular aspect of their dancing with you, and don't take it personally if they decline. Being free to invite, and equally free to decline, is a key aspect of consent.

We are an LGBTQ+ inclusive, gender-fluid dance space. Leading and following are not assigned according to gender. We encourage everyone to explore both roles, while respecting each dancer's choice to focus on one.

Etiquette & Code of Conduct

Consent, respecting other dancers' practice, and understanding the difference between practising together and teaching are central to our ethos.

As part of your booking, please complete the Práctica Etiquette & Code of Conduct questions, confirming that you understand and agree to the principles of our practice space.

Continuing After Your Introduction

If you enjoy the práctica and wish to continue, you can take out a monthly subscription.

£45 per month (£35 low-income concession) — equivalent to £9–£11.25 per session.

The subscription helps us maintain a regular practice space. With limited numbers and costs close to break-even, relying on drop-in attendance would make the space difficult to sustain.

There is no obligation to subscribe after your introductory visit.
