Learn to Hold Ritual Space: Free Event

Whether you wish to mark a significant moment in your own life, begin honouring the seasonal cycles, or generally wish to bring more meaning into your life, this workshop will give you a basic framework for how to design your own rituals.

Drawing on 6 years experience holding ritual spaces for transformation, Gaia Harvey Jackson will share her learning and knowledge of her practice.

Gaia weaves together elements of embodiment, voice work, meditation and authentic connection in what she calls the Four Pillars of Holistic Leadership. 

You will also learn about the Arc of Transformation, and the various elements that go into creating a ritual.

Gaia strongly believes in the power of creativity, intuition and co-creation in designing and leading rituals. In these times, when we have lost our ritual roots, it's essential that we start to tell a new story, and bring ritual back to life, in a way that rings true for us.

This is not a step-by-step introduction, but more an invitation into your own creativity and imagination. Gaia will offer the basic framework, and give you the tools to create your own bespoke ritual that is personal, unique, and most importantly, will resonate with the people you are with.
 

About Ritual

Ritual has been used by humans for thousands of years as a way to create meaning out of the things that happen in our lives. We are story based creatures with a need to make meaning. This is how we make sense of the world and our place in it.

A ritual lifts someone out of their everyday experience, and brings them into a world that exists in a liminal space. It has a clearly marked beginning and end, with some kind of peak experience in the middle that catalyses a shift in the person.

Tools such as drumming, dancing or guided visualisation are often used to bring someone into an altered state of consciousness that is ripe territory for transformation.

Rituals work in the symbolic realm, and thus speak to our subconscious in a way that rational thought cannot. Through embodiment and symbolism we are able to bring about a more real sense of change that helps us to process and integrate events and transitions in our lives.

About Your Facilitator

Gaia is a facilitator and coach of empowerment, ecstatic dance and authentic connection. Her work is playful, deep and courageous. Her mission is to connect humans to their primal nature to live a richer and freer life.​ She does this through embodied ritual, cyclical living, and creating spaces for people to test their edges, shed their skins, and find belonging in those they meet along the way.

Gaia holds ritual space for people to make meaning and mark significant life transitions, such as baby blessing ways, bridal blessing ways, and ‘wrapping ceremonies’ for women who have experienced abortion or miscarriage. 

Gaia works with organisations and events companies to weave ritual into their work. Including: Morning Gloryville, Togetherness, Alter Ego Network, Ecstatic Dance UK, Noisily Festival, Medicine Festival, Psychedelic Society, Extinction Rebellion, Kilifi New Year Festival Kenya, and Midwifing the Veils Training Programme in Guatemala.
