APOCALYPTARIAN HYPERHUMANISM

APOCALYPTARIAN HYPERHUMANISM

Apocalyptarian Hyperhumanism represents a month-long course at Philosophy Portal co-hosted between myself and Layman Pascal.  We are entering into very strange times, our prediction horizons are breaking down, and technocapitalism seems to be accelerating at a faster and faster pace, in the process breaking down traditional notions of identity, community, and society as a whole.  How should we think about these accelerationist tendencies?  How do humanism, hyperhumanism, and transhumanism help us to explore the potentials of being human?  Do we need entirely new concepts and new ways of being in order to thrive as humans in this new reality?  Join me for this month-long investigation where I will be leading a session on hyperhuman methods for apocalyptic times. Layman Pascal and Cadell Last will focus on the notions of accelerationism and apocalyptarianism.  On the other side of this journey, we should have a better understanding of how these destabilising times invite us into the mystery of what it means to be human.

The month will consist of four in-depth sessions:
