Forró: Introduction to Brazil’s Beautiful Dance
Step into the joyful world of forró, the partner dance from Northeast Brazil.
A dance of rhythm, embrace, and playful connection — simple to learn, uplifting to dance, and open to everyone.
✨ Guest teacher: Filipe Abreu (Salvador, Bahia, Brazil)
Filipe is a much-loved dancer who has taught and inspired forró communities around the world. Now he joins us in Cornwall for this one-off workshop.
This is the first forró workshop in Cornwall. From this launch, we hope to meet regularly to dance and practise together, while inviting guest teachers and musicians to lead workshops and masterclasses.
Forró is about dancing with ease, connection, and openness. Everyone is encouraged to try both leading and following, whatever their gender.
No partner or experience needed — just bring comfortable shoes and an open mind.
📍 Venue: The Cornish Bank, Falmouth
📅 Date: Saturday 25 October 2025
🕑 Time: 14:00 – 16:00
Finances should never get in the way — we just need to cover costs, so practices are by donation and workshops with visiting teachers are flexibly priced.
Expect movement, joy, and the first steps of a warm new community.
