Sacred Activist Collective: a space for justice-hearted souls to root, gather and rise
We are a community of justice-hearted souls who care deeply, for the Earth, for each other, and for a liberated world.
We honour our interconnection with all life: land and lineage, breath and body, ancestors and animals, soil and stars. We gather to remember our sacred responsibility and our collective power to create the world we long for.
We host free online gatherings every two weeks, with an intention to lighten the weight of the world with practices that strengthen our bodymind, deepen our connections, and awaken our personal and collective power. Our spaces follow a living rhythm:
🌱 Root: Create space within your bodymind to release tension, process emotion, and return to your centre through embodied, creative, and restorative practices.
🌀 Gather: Come together in community to witness and be witnessed, share truth, and remember that our struggles and hopes are carried more lightly when held collectively.
🔥 Rise: Anchor into your inner and collective power, reclaim your agency, and practice the liberatory ways of being that move us toward a freer world. You might call yourself a social activist, environmentalist, advocate, artist, change-maker, Earth-warrior, ally or you might not. No matter how you define or show your care for the world, this space is for you, because you need collective care too.
Root: Rest as Resistance
A sound journey for the work of collective liberation
All proceeds from this gathering will support a fundraiser for Ameera’s family in Gaza, allowing our collective rest to become an act of solidarity in action. You can also donate directly to her page here.
For those of us who care deeply about our world, and are speaking up, advocating, protesting, organising, and mobilising against genocide, ecological destruction, racism, fascism, and the many ways life continues to be devalued, rest is not a luxury. As Audre Lorde reminds us, caring for ourselves is an act of political self-preservation. It is one of the ways we protect our capacity to keep showing up with courage, clarity, and love.
We don't rest to reward good behaviour, or rest as a one-time repair after burnout. Sustainable and sacred activism is a way of living, that includes the practice of tending to our minds, our hearts, our bodies and our spirits, again and again, for as long as this world and our devotion asks of us. This sound journey is one part of that practice.
Across multiple cultures and wisdom traditions, sound has been understood as a pathway back to wholeness. The Indian Vedic tradition speaks of Nada Yoga, the Yoga of Sound, where sound, frequency and vibration becomes a pathway into deep states of restoration and inner harmony. Tibetan Buddhist traditions have long used singing bowls, and many Indigenous cultures use drumming, chanting, humming, and song as practices for deep healing and collective care.
Long before neuroscience gave us language such as "nervous system regulation," these traditions understood that sound can help us return to ourselves, and reconnect us with the vital life force that sustains our bodies, nourishes our spirits, and gives us the vitality to continue showing up for the world with courage and compassion.
In this deeply restorative online gathering, we will be guided through a sound journey, inviting the body into profound rest. There is nothing to achieve, fix, or do. This is simply an opportunity to receive, replenish and remember that our vitality is one of the greatest resources we have for the work of collective liberation. Because movements also need restored bodies, open hearts, and people who remember how to breathe.
How we’ll flow together
- Opening prayer
- Meditation
- Sound healing journey
- Closing reflection and prayer
This is for you if:
- You are feeling emotionally, physically, or spiritually depleted by the state of the world.
- You long for deep rest that reaches beyond the thinking mind.
- You are curious about sound as an embodied practice for restoration and healing.
- You want to replenish your energy in community, knowing that caring for ourselves is part of caring for each other.
What You’ll Need:
- A quiet space where you can lie down or sit comfortably.
- Headphones or speakers if possible, to deepen your experience.
- A blanket, pillow, eye mask, or anything that helps you feel warm and supported.
- Water and a journal if you'd like to note any reflections afterwards.
- Invite your full, feeling, messy, raw, unfiltered, caring, soft and fiery self to be present
In this space, we ask that you commit to:
- Showing up exactly as you are. Your humanity with its grief, sorrow, rage, inspiration, joy, hope and everything in between is welcome.
- Being respectful and reflective about opinions, perspectives and lived experiences that are different to yours.
