Psychedelics & Relationships: Rewiring Love, Intimacy, and Emotional Connection with Sarah Tilley

Can altered states transform the way we love, or reveal why we struggle to connect at all?

About

Most relationships don’t fail because people don’t care. They fail because of unconscious patterns: attachment wounds, emotional defences, and a gradual loss of intimacy over time.

At the same time, psychedelics are emerging as powerful tools for psychological insight and emotional change. Yet their impact on relationships, how we bond, communicate, and sustain connection, remains one of the most important and least understood areas of this field.

This session goes directly into that space.

Drawing on real-world therapeutic work with couples, alongside emerging research, Sarah Tilley explores how psychedelic experiences can disrupt entrenched relational patterns, reopen emotional connection, and catalyse meaningful shifts in how we experience love.

This is not a romanticised view. It is a grounded, psychologically informed exploration of both the potential and the risks.

For anyone serious about understanding love, intimacy, and long-term connection, this is a conversation that moves beyond theory into what actually changes when people confront themselves, and each other, in altered states.

The session will open with a presentation by Sarah, followed by a live audience Q&A.

⚠️ This is an educational event. No medical or clinical advice can be given during this session.

Can’t attend the live event? No problem -  all ticket holders will get access to the recording.

What we'll cover

  • Why modern relationships break down and what sits beneath disconnection
  • How psychedelics can alter emotional openness, empathy, and bonding
  • The role of attachment patterns and early relational imprints
  • What actually happens to couples in psychedelic-assisted settings
  • Communication, vulnerability, and the rebuilding of trust
  • Where things go wrong: risks, projections, and ethical challenges
  • Why integration, not the experience itself, determines long-term relational change

Your Speaker

Sarah Tilley is a pioneer in psychedelic-assisted couples therapy and an integrative clinician working with individuals and couples at key turning points in their relationships where repair, separation, or reinvention are all possible.

With over 20 years of clinical experience across psychedelic medicine, integrative health, and relational therapy, Sarah brings a deeply interdisciplinary approach to her work. Her training includes extensive study with leading figures in psychotherapy and relational science, as well as somatic and consent-based frameworks.

She is the founder of Beautiful Space and creator of the Beautiful Space Method, a model of psychedelic-assisted relational therapy that integrates embodiment, attachment, and emotional connection. Her work explores how altered states can support healing in areas such as intimacy, desire, and relational patterns.

Sarah has contributed to psychedelic research, including work with Imperial College London, and is an experienced speaker on the intersection of psychedelics, relationships, and mental health. She continues to support clients and collaborate on emerging research in this evolving field.
