Land and Sky: Wild Ritual for Women

A daylong gathering on the edge of Dartmoor for women to call in the Spring, to feel the holding of sisterhood and connect deeply with the natural world. 

The Call 

Heed the cry of the rising earth and awaken your untamed, dew-drenched self as you step into your own authentic way of being. It is time to fully inhabit your animal body, to give a fierce and full-throated YES to life, let go of self-judgment and fear, and allow the universe to unfold at your feet.

Land and Sky is a collective ritual where we soften the boundaries between ourselves and the natural world. Wild in our strength and sensuality, we will shake off winter’s tendrils and fully embrace the clarity of Spring. As the land jumps into life, we will align our hearts, minds and bodies to wake up the dormant earth energies, dreaming an exuberant and abundant world into being as we unite in embodied prayer amongst crystal-studded rocks.

What to expect 

In this one-day event we will explore rituals and practices to support presence and deepen connection with the self and the natural world, inviting deep listening with the earth. These include:

Nature-based shamanism
Meditative journeying
Systemic constellations
Group healing 
Movement
Song

Flow of the day

We will work both individually and as a group, building a sense of collective support in which sensuality and self-expression are all welcome.

The day will begin with a sharing circle and the setting of intentions around the fire. Throughout the day we will work at the yurt space, around the fire or out on the land. 

We will share a light lunch, with soup and grain provided and an invitation to bring extras. 

In the afternoon we will embark on a larger collective ritual and healing practise, with time at the end to gather, reflect and share our experiences. 

Recommendations 

You will benefit most from this work if you aim to arrive with a clear head and some sense of which areas of your life are most calling for your attention. Its best to avoid alcohol and drugs the day before and to come well rested and in good time to settle before we begin

The venue 

The Hillyfield is a farm on the edge of Dartmoor, The land is made up of ancient woodland and organic pasture and managed for community and ecological benefit. We will use the yurt and outdoor fire space, and have use of the meadow.

The Hillyfield is located between Buckfastleigh, Rattery and South Brent. The most affordable options are on Airbnb, but there are very good B&Bs in the area, plus some very good local campsites and shepherds huts.

Your Guide 

Hannah Sneyd

Hannah Sneyd is a practitioner of family constellations and shamanic healer, a storyteller, poet, psychic, facilitator and curator of immersive and life-enriching events. Having trained in shamanism, tantric bodywork, family constellations and theatre of the oppressed, her work treads a subtle path between the emotionally tender and the transcendent, supporting the full expression of our authentic selves through embodiment and ritual. She draws deeply from the wellspring of nature and from human mythos both ancient and modern. She lives on Dartmoor and spends her free time exploring the Westcountry’s wilds and waves, dancing and digging up the garden.
