What lies beyond the boundaries of our ordinary perception?

Across cultures and throughout history, humans have reported encounters with beings from other dimensions: serpents of wisdom, divine mothers, insectoid engineers, trickster jesters, light beings pulsing with infinite intelligence, and many more.

With the resurgence of DMT (N,N-Dimethyltryptamine) research - such as the groundbreaking studies at Imperial College London - and the growing body of firsthand accounts from modern psychonauts, we are beginning to glimpse a hidden universe that challenges our very understanding of reality.

In this new 3 weeks course, creative technologist and DMT research participant at Imperial College Batuhan Bintas,  will visualise  the ineffable, bringing altered states of consciousness to life through art and code.

The question remains: are we finally ready to understand what they’ve been trying to tell us? And more importantly, are we ready to meet them?

OVERVIEW:

Module 1 (16th November):  The Curtain Between Worlds

DMT, Sacred Symbolism & the Roots of Mystical Experience

  • DMT as a Portal: Take a closer look at how DMT works within the human body — from its interaction with serotonin receptors to the MAO “curtain” that separates everyday perception from visionary states. We’ll also touch on insights from the groundbreaking studies at Imperial College London, shared from the unique perspective of a DMT research volunteer.
  • Sacred Encounters: Explore how timeless symbols — the Jinn in Islam, the serpent of the Tree of Knowledge from the Bible, and the Burning Bush of Moses — mirror key features of DMT experiences, such as radiant intelligences, threshold guardians, and transmissions of profound knowledge.
  • Where Science Meets Myth: Understand how religious narratives and neurochemistry may be describing the same phenomenon through different lenses — one poetic and spiritual, the other biological and measurable.

Module 2 (23rd November): Archetypes of the Invisible — Part I

Serpents, Tricksters & Builders of the Visionary Realm

  • A Shared Language of Vision: Meet the recurring archetypes reported in DMT experiences — serpents, elves, jesters, mantis-like surgeons, octopi — and discover their uncanny resemblance to figures found throughout world mythology; from Egyptians, Greek to Sumerian and Mesoamerican Mythologies
  • Guides, Tricksters & Initiators: Explore the roles these entities play within the visionary space: playful teachers, guardians of thresholds, healers, or shadow mirrors that challenge the traveler’s perception.
  • Echoes Through Time: Trace their presence back through history, from therianthropic figures like the Lion-man of Hohlenstein-Stadel to mushroom-headed beings in North African rock art, revealing that these archetypes have walked beside humanity for thousands of years.

Module 3 (30th November): Archetypes of the Invisible — Part II

Deities, Angels & The Divine Feminine

  • Gatekeepers of Light: Cross the threshold to encounter figures like Ganesha, radiant angels, and crystalline temple cities — visionary spaces that mirror ancient iconography and celestial myths across civilizations.
  • The Feminine Current: Meet goddess archetypes such as Durga, Al-Uzza, and Mary Magdalene — protectors, healers, and carriers of primordial wisdom; that echo both in today's DMT experiencers trip reports and through the ages of human history
  • Union & The Future Frontier: At the far edge of the DMT journey, archetypes dissolve into the Source — a state of infinite light and awareness. Many who journey into this union report experienceing union with God. Could this be the ultimate source of reality itself? Could this be the God state that all the spiritual and religious teachings have been describing?

The Future of consciousness research: As DMT research expands and psychonauts become explorers of inner space, the coming age of AI may allow us to map and translate these states like never before — charting the deepest mysteries of consciousness not with rockets, but with minds as the vessels.
