Joe has been singing for as long as he can remember. He trained with the Natural Voice Network, studied music at Cardiff University, and completed choir leaders training with Stephen Taberner of Spooky Men's Chorale. He also holds a diploma in music education methodologies from Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, and has trained in Collaborative Vocal Improvisation.

He spent nine years living in Colombia, playing trombone, percussion and singing with Colombian groups steeped in Latin American and West African traditions, including touring Europe with the fusion group Suákata and the multi-disciplinary stage production La Gran Chócolo. Back in Bristol, he's sung with Murmuration for four years, leading the bass section over the past year. This summer he joined Spooky Men's Chorale on their 25th anniversary UK tour.

For Joe, singing isn't about being the best in the room. It's a way of building strength together, something to hold onto when times are hard, and a sound that only happens when everyone shows up and joins in. His approach is simple: everyone can sing, it just takes practice.
