A new singing group in East Bristol.

No auditions, no experience needed, and everything is taught by ear. Just turn up and have a sing. Expect fun, groovy songs that make you wanna move. Expect harmonies that give you goosebumps. Bring a friend if you like.

What should I bring?

A bottle of water

What should I wear?

Whatever's comfy. We'll be on our feet and moving a bit, so shoes or socks are both fine.

Can I just turn up to the first session?

Yes you can, but it's great if you drop me a message to say you're coming: bristolthrum@gmail.com

Who's running this?

I'm Joe. I've sung with Murmuration, Bristol's contemporary music choir, for the past four years, and this summer I toured the UK with Spooky Men's Chorale. This choir is my own project, and I'd love to see you there.

Terms and conditions

By booking you're agreeing to the following.

1. Over 18s only. This choir is for adults aged 18 and over.

2. Everyone is welcome. This is an inclusive space for people of all genders, races and ethnicities, sexualities, religions, backgrounds, abilities and experience levels. No auditions, no judgement.

3. Be kind. I can ask anyone to leave the choir if their behaviour makes others feel unsafe or unwelcome, including discrimination, harassment or disrespect. In that case I won't be able to offer a refund.

4. Payment. The full term fee is due when you book. Concession tickets are for students, anyone unwaged, or anyone for whom the full price is a stretch right now. No proof needed.

5. Refunds. Full refund up to 7 days before the first session. After that, refunds and transfers aren't available, because the fee covers venue hire and my time whether or not you're in the room.

6. Missed sessions. No credit or refund for sessions you miss.

7. Joining late. Term booking closes on 29 Oct. If you miss it, come along to the next term.

8. If I cancel a session, I'll offer a replacement at a time that works for most people. If I can't, I'll refund that session.

9. Come if you're well. If you've got anything catching (flus/viruses etc.), please stay home.

10. Look after yourself. Taking part is at your own risk and you're responsible for your own health and wellbeing. Sit down, step out or skip anything that doesn't feel right, and tell me if there's anything that would help you take part.

11. Photos and recordings. I may take some for the choir's publicity. I'll always check with the group first, and you can opt out of being in them. Please ask me before filming or recording a session, and don't share photos or recordings of other people without their say-so.

12. Your details are used to run the choir, including emailing you about it (your booking, reminders, session updates and a feedback request). You only get emails about future terms and other singing events if you say yes to "Would you like to hear about The Bristol Thrum and other singing events from Joe?" when booking.

13. Please look after the venue and only use the rooms and facilities we've agreed. Take your belongings home with you, as I can't look after lost items.

I agree to the terms and conditions

By proceeding you also agree to Dandelion's terms and conditions and understand this event is organised by The Bristol Thrum, who takes financial and legal responsibility for the event.
