Darkness descends as Winter approaches. It is that time of year once more when we reflect on death and remember those who have moved across. 

The Fountayne Fire Society gathers together once again for a night of song, story and ceremony. We shall mourn our dearly departed, face our own mortality and convene with the spirits. This year, it will be a lot more personal than in previous years and we invite you to bring memories and reminders of those lost.

We'll be meeting at the Paddock on Ferry Lane, doing a little bit of nature worship with mandalas made from leaves and more, and then walking in torchlight procession down the River Lea to Markfield Park. Please bring as many lovely lights, torches, candles as you would like. If naked flames are involved, please consider the safety of yourself and others. (For small candles consider yoghurt pots or similar as a little sheild for the breeze and to stop wax dropping on your hand!)

These nights are co-created and their success is the product of our collective creativity. Dress up, make some food and bring a song, story or poem to the fire. We are always looking for more people to get involved with the organising as well, so please join the team if you have the capacity.

7.00pm – Cauldron Cabaret with Mother Wolf Club 

8.00pm – Songs, stories, poems and more around the Fire

11.00pm – Finish and tidy up
