2-Day Introductory Workshop Myofascial Energetic Release (MER)

MER is hands-on deep bodywork that works on muscles (myo), connective tissue (fascia) and the  physical and emotional aspects of tension and holding patterns in the body. The treatment may also  include breathwork, joint release, assisted stretches, and emotional work. The goal of a MER  session is to relieve pain, restore physical function, and achieve balance between body and mind.

Every person is a whole, a unity in which everything is interconnected and in which fascia plays a  crucial role. Fascia is a multifaceted organ that communicates, supports, connects, separates,  protects, strengthens, coordinates, and provides information about how you feel inside.  Understanding how fascia functions in the larger scheme of things and how you can work with it in  deep bodywork can help you foster healing and transformation at a profound level in your clients.

This introductory workshop is open to bodyworkers and therapists who want to expand their skills as  well as newcomers to bodywork who want to discover the possibilities that MER offers. In this  weekend you will get an introduction to the principles and science behind MER; the how it works  and why. You will learn basic techniques that you can instantly apply in your practice, supporting  your clients on their path to health and healing.

We will also cover:

• The body's natural capacity for self-regulation and healing

• The autonomic nervous system and how you can work with it with simple interventions

• How to perform a body reading and how to incorporate this information into a session

• Elements of deep touch, such as depth, speed, and duration of your stroke

• The importance of your own posture and breathing

• How you can support the process with verbal cues and client participation

• Active meditation

Expect a practical approach. By practicing with different partners and exchanging feedback, you will  learn from your own experience what this work can achieve for you and your clients.

This workshop serves as an introduction to professional modules of MER taking place in the Leela  Centre in Gillingham, Dorset.

About Myofascial Energetic Release

Myofascial Energetic Release (MER) is a deep form of bodywork developed by renowned  bodyworker Satyarthi Peloquin. It combines myofascial release, breathwork, movement, and  emotional work to release tension, align the body, support emotional healing, and restore natural  energy flow.

About the trainer

Ketu Bo trained as a therapist with Veeresh Yuson in the Osho Humaniversity in the Netherlands,  specialising in emotional awareness, bodywork, dance and movement. Next to being a  Humaniversity therapist, he is a Postural Integration practitioner, MER (Myofascial Energetic  Release) practitioner, a Postural Alignment Specialist (Egoscue postural therapy) and a NARM  (Neuro Affective Relational Model) practitioner.

Ketu has a profound interest in the connection between mind, body and soul. Drawing from 30  years of working in the human potential movement as a group leader, bodyworker, trainer and  therapist, Ketu has the experience, knowledge and skill needed to help newcomers get started with  bodywork, as well as teaching practicing therapists how they can improve their game.

Ulla Thordal's path in bodywork began with Cranio-Sacral Therapy, a practice she honered for many years before exploring tantra in 2011, which she now integrates into her work. Her fascination with the healing power of the fascia and nervous system led her to study Myofascial Energetic Release (MER) under Satyarthi Peloquin, assisting him in workshops across Europe. Ulla is passionate about using her hands and heart to guide clients toward health and balance, always striving to create meaningful, individualised connections.
