Join Vaughan for a workshop combining movement, sound and breath as tools to bring us to a place of deeper self awareness and self compassion.

First, we engage our physical form, generating heat and shifting through the gears of movement. Many of us struggle to sit in stillness or meditation if we haven’t first had some form of exercise, and this allows us to feel alive and present in our bodies in familiar ways.

Next we engage our voices as a group by making noise without using words, and without any expectations of rhythm, melody or pitch. Words keep us in our heads and in our thoughts, and by shifting our focus to sounds we remove a subtle yet significant barrier between ourselves and our feelings, and give life and expression to what-ever is present in the moment.

Finally, we breathe together, and take the focus of our work to grounding, centering and exploring the journey from the head to the heart and the body. Our goal is to bring you into a deep sense of embodiment and grounding, and to facilitate fresh perspective and self awareness, leading to a healthier mind, body and soul.

There will be the opportunity to share space and reflect on the session  with other participants before leaving.

Preparing For Your Session

To ensure comfort during the session, participants are advised to avoid eating for at least 2 hours beforehand. Stay well-hydrated, and drink plenty of water throughout the day beforehand.

I suggest participants wear loose comfortable clothing with no tightness or restriction around the abdomen.

Please bring a yoga mat, a blanket and a pillow or cushion. An eyemask is also good but not essential.

Health Considerations

While breathwork can benefit many individuals, there are certain conditions where caution or avoidance may be necessary. Please be aware that the following conditions are contraindicated for Conscious Connected Breathing:

1. History of seizures or epilepsy
2. First Trimester of Pregnancy, and when trying to conceive
3. Detached retina or any eye condition which can be adversely affected by changes in internal pressure.
4. Psychotic episodes.

By signing up for Breathwork sessions, you confirm you do not have any of the conditions mentioned above and release me from any liability related to your participation. My clients safety and well-being are my top priorities and if there are any concerns or questions, please feel free to contact me in advance, or talk to me on the day.
