SOLSTICE CELEBRATION - Kirtan & Cacao

Lets celebrate the festive season together as a community with mantra, song, devotion and belonging.

In a time where Liverpool was in much need of community and connection, these Kirtan's became a saving grace for many and back by popular demand, here we are, for one night only!

Sing, chant, dance, connect in joy with your community at the most festive time of year! 

On winter solstice we celebrate the darkest night of the year.  A pause, to reflect, be still and observe what needs to be reclaimed back into the light. Take the time to explore the depth of your inner world so you may rebirth and call back your love and the love of creation to the deepest parts of you, for your  rebirth in spring. 

Kirtan is an ancient practice of chanting sacred sounds that have a vibrational resonance to a higher power. This practice is conducted in a group setting with a kirtan leader. The collective vibration is raised and a deep sense of connection to self, others and all life is created. 

The practice derives from Indian culture and the mantras are often sung in Sanskrit language although we will also be exploring mulitiple different ancient vibrations and language during the evening. 

This is not a religious event. Although there are religious connections to this practice, during this evening we will not be worshiping any one god, rather the celebration of life within all living beings and all of creation. 

We will be using our own voice, our own unique instrument to sing these sounds that match the frequency of creation in different forms, this has a powerful effect on the mind, body and spirit.  There is no singing or music experience necessary. This space is for the freedom of expression and allowing yourself to explore your voice in a non-judgmental space. 

Ceremonial Cacao will be served during the evening. Cacao in its purest, unprocessed form is a heart opening medicine that awakes not only our physical heart but our emotional and spiritual heart. Containing properties such as Theobromine that softly opens the blood vessels and stimulated heart activity, magnesium a natural reliever of tension in the body and it also contains Anandamide which is known as the bliss molecule the offers a gentle yet uplifting sense of love, compassion and connection to yourself and all life. 

Kirtan and Cacao work beautifully together as the Cacao opens our hearts and chanting mantra connects us to our voice, our expression and the truth of our inner world being seen and heart while connecting with others simultaneously.

EMAJANE has been practicing Kirtan for 8 years. She travelled to India where this practice became an integral part of her life, she studied mantra whilst also learning to be a yoga teacher. This was the beginning of her music career as now she creates her own original music that has been deeply influenced by Kirtan and the practice of singing in devotion to a higher power. EMAJANE ran kirtans in Liverpool regularly before following her independent music career. It is a joy for her to be back sharing the practice where it all started in her home town of Liverpool for one night of joy, connection, community and love.
