COSTUME

Embrace the mystical, the vibrant and the ghostly to celebrate and honour our ancestors. Channel a Day of the Dead / Samhain aesthetic with a fusion of gothic, festive and ancestral elements.

Face and body art painting sessions will be between 14:00 - 16:00. Pre-book a session via the ticket section.

Have fun getting creative with your costumes. For inspiration visit our Pinterest page.

Style

Skull Face Paint - Traditional sugar skull face paint with intricate designs and vibrant colours
Floral Crowns & Headpieces - Marigold flowers represent life and remembrance. Go bold with crowns or flower-adorned headbands.
Skeleton Motifs - Clothing and accessories with skeletal patterns, lace or shadowy textures. Flowing garments add an ethereal touch.
Ancestral & Ritual Accessories - Incorporate beads, feathers, bones and amulets to connect with ancient traditions.

Characters

La Catrina - A symbol of Day of the Dead, with elegant yet haunting attire.
Ancestral Spirits - Represent family heritage or folklore figures through costume details, incorporating symbols from personal or collective ancestry.
Mystical Entities - Craft a look of a mythical spirit or underworld guide, blending ghostly makeup with flowing attire.

Palette

Colours - A rich mix of dark and bright - think black, deep purples and reds, alongside vibrant orange, blue and pink.
Textures - Use frayed, worn fabrics for a ghostly feel or mix with rich textiles for a ceremonial touch.

Makeup

Sugar Skull Face Paint - Decorate with patterns around the eyes, nose and mouth to mimic skeletal features, adorned with flowers or glitter.
Dark, Ethereal Makeup - For a ghostly vibe, use smoky eyes and deep lip colours, adding shadow to enhance the mystique.
