There is a space between us that none of us reaches alone. This is an evening for meeting there.

We sit in a circle. Nothing is prepared, and nothing is performed. The practice is simple — to say what is actually here, as it is happening, and to stay long enough to be met in it.
Circling gives attention to the present moment between people, rather than to the story about it. It asks for no experience and no explanation. Only a willingness to be seen.
Some evenings are quiet. Some are not. What is common to them is that people tend to leave more at home in themselves than when they arrived.

This practice is a space for reflection and connection, not therapy, and all participants are fully responsible for managing their own emotional well-being and personal boundaries. Please note that this can be an intense experience. If you are on mental health medication or finding your emotions hard to control this work may not be for you at this stage of your journey. If in doubt please chat with one of our leadership team.

WHO HOLDS THIS SPACE

The Space Between is held collectively by three facilitators — Aleksandra Matakovic-Manca, Richard Ashrowan and Tobias Kaye — each bringing a different lineage to the same commitment: presence, and the willingness to meet what's real.

Aleksandra's path is rooted in a lifelong exploration of healing, connection, and the sacred. This exploration has been shaped by her own healing journey, by her life as a bridge between cultures and languages, and by her clinical work as an integrative psychiatrist, heart-based psychotherapist, and transformational connection coach. Her background and training in Buddhist contemplative practices — Theravada, Vipassana, Insight Dialogue, and Interpersonal Mindfulness — alongside Circling and Surrendered Leadership, have deepened her capacity to guide and be present with another with her whole self, while witnessing the powerful transformation that occurs when we are met through the heart. She believes we are all each other's medicine. Her current interest lies in how we support each other to remember our wholeness, and our innate capacity to heal when we are truly seen. In her presence, people notice being more in their bodies, more here, more able to say what's actually true. She brings a calm, grounded presence to the circle, holding space for what wants to become visible.

Richard's path has been shaped by a lifelong exploration of light, ritual, and transformation. A moving image artist, film curator, and PhD researcher, his work spans alchemical light metaphysics and immersive video installation. Alongside three decades in the arts (including founding Alchemy Film & Arts and curating for the Venice Art Biennale), he has held a long-standing interest in mental health and wellbeing, working professionally in the field. He is also a certified facilitator in Transformational Connection and Circling. His artistic practice and his facilitation work share the same root: an interest in how presence, ritual, and attention can reveal what is normally hidden. He brings a commitment to trusting all that arises from deep presence, a welcoming of everything that comes up in connection in the present moment. Through embracing both shadow and light, we may gently reveal ourselves to ourselves, and to one another, flowing from moment to moment. To experience the real fullness of our humanity, this authenticity and aliveness, is for him something truly sacred.

Tobias's path has been shaped by a lifelong curiosity about what makes us human. Born the second son of a Bio-Dynamic farmer in rural Ireland and raised in the Sussex woodlands with a Waldorf education, he later travelled widely, working across building, forestry, horticulture, hospitality, and child care, before becoming a self-employed sculptor. His youthful love of music and poetry eventually converged with his sculptural craft in the creation of Sounding Bowls, instruments now used by musicians, hospitals/healers, and meditators worldwide. Tobias has spent 35 years pioneering circle based soul led group work drawing on Scott Peck community building, Native American and Adam Bradpiece circle practices and Steiner's Saturn Path. He now facilitates deep listening circles and workshops and is training in surrendered leadership to further refine his heart-centred approach.

You can join for a single evening, a series of eight weeks, or drop in as it suits you.

Please book and pay in advance. This helps us hold the container and know who to expect. You can book a single ticket or commit to eight weeks at a reduced rate using the options below.

By purchasing a ticket, you agree to take full responsibility for managing your own emotional well-being and personal boundaries .
