Apple Crumble! Community Apple Processing at Ragmans Lane
Monday 26th October – Thursday 5th November (departing Friday 6th November)
Apple Land might be over, but the apple season isn't done with us yet! Join us back at Ragmans Lane, the stunning permaculture orchard farm in Gloucestershire, for a week of apple processing, cider making, compost building, shared food and autumnal celebration.
After the festival, we'll be heading back to Ragmans to finish building our giant compost heap, work through the apple harvest, and make the most of the season together. Expect hands-on days, good cider, shared meals, and plenty of space to help transform rescued apples into something useful and delicious.
A deeper dive into the orchard
Apple Crumble is a deeper immersion into orchard life and food resilience. We're focusing on the Ragmans Lane Farm revival project, and we're calling in those who want to get their hands in the compost, help bring the land back to life, and make the most of its harvests. If you'd love to feast with us, work with us and become part of our core Old Tree team, this one's for you!
Apple Crumble is part of the wider Old Tree apple season, bringing people together around orchards, food, soil and the practical work of harvest. The most important thing is wasting as little of this glorious fruit as possible!!
Samhain and Bonfire Night!
During the stay we're throwing a Samhain fundraiser party at Ragmans, with cider flowing from Old Tree's own stock. And to send the week off with a bang, we'll finish with a Bonfire Night party on the 5th November. Come and celebrate the turning of the season with us!
What's the Deal?
Stay with us for as many nights as you like. Simply select a ticket for each night you'd like to join us from the list below.
We'll be staying together in the communal bunkhouse with its own bathrooms and kitchen, and there's a lovely sheltered spot outside where we can have a fire, play music and sing in the evenings.
Will I have to pay for anything?
The only cost is your bed, which is priced on a sliding scale of £4–£8 per night, so please choose what you're able to. We'll be sharing meals together throughout the week.
What should I bring?
Please bring a sleeping bag for the bunkhouse, plenty of warm clothes, waterproofs and sturdy boots, maybe even a hot water bottle! Late autumn days on the farm can be chilly, and so can the evenings round the fire.
We can't wait to see you back at Ragmans for one last crumble of the season!
