Join us on Friday, December 8th from 6pm for a deeply transformative and healing Grief Ceremony, which is the second event in our series focusing on grief and loss. This event is inspired by the profound insights of Francis Weller and led by the experienced facilitator, Ola. Before we dive into the details, we'd like to share that this ceremony is designed to be a safe and inclusive space for anyone who has experienced sorrow, loss, or disappointment.
Why Attend the Grief Ceremony?
1. Create Space for Grief: In a world where grief is often overlooked, this ceremony allows you the opportunity to truly honor and express your emotions.
2. Exploring Collective Sorrow: Together, we will delve into the layers of our collective sorrow, from ancestral grief to our connections with our planet and loved ones, giving you the chance to process your losses and unfulfilled dreams.
3. A Safe and Non-Judgmental Space: We offer a safe, non-judgmental, and nurturing environment where you can acknowledge, express, and witness your grief without pressure to "fix" or reach a specific outcome.
4. Multi-Dimensional Approach: Ola will guide you through a series of exercises and rituals, including grounding activities, meditation, expressive techniques, and community witnessing, fostering a sense of connection and trust.
5. Cacao and Supper: Nourish your body and soul with cacao and supper, (cacao provided as part of the ceremony, food is optional and an additional cost).
6. Discover the Beauty of Life: As we explore grief, you'll gain a deeper appreciation for the beauty of life and the connections we share, even in our moments of sorrow. As someone wisely said, "Suffer Joyfully."
7. Inclusivity and Freedom: This event is designed to be inclusive, respecting your personal beliefs and emotional processes. Every exercise is optional, and no beliefs are pushed upon anyone.
8. Emotional Healing: Noticing and allowing your inner feelings in this safe space can help you process unacknowledged emotions, lifting the weight of sadness, disconnection, and other complex emotions.
Benefits of Attending:
❤️ Emotional Release: The ceremony offers a space to let go of pent-up emotions and find relief.
🤗 Community Support: You'll be surrounded by a supportive community, which can provide comfort and understanding during your journey.
🧠 Self-Discovery: The event encourages self-reflection and helps you gain a deeper understanding of your own emotions.
❤️🩹 Healing: Engaging with your grief can lead to healing, growth, and a renewed sense of connection with life.
Important Note:
This ceremony can be an emotional experience, and we want you to know that it is completely normal to feel a range of emotions. The evening is carefully designed to hold a safe space for these emotions, with music and meditations to guide you. Nobody will be asked to do anything they are not comfortable with. Your comfort and well-being are our top priorities.
Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to embark on a journey of self-discovery, healing, and community support. We look forward to sharing this transformative experience with you.
This event is part of a series of events on grief, which includes a talk about grief, and a Grief Circle where we can share comforting words, and be held in community.
Remember, you're not alone on this path, and healing is possible. Reserve your spot today.
Accessibility & Cost of Living
This venue does not currently have accessible toilet facilities and they are seeking to change this. Until then, we are seeking other spaces to host events to ensure as many as possible can attend and that things remain affordable.
We have tickets available for anyone on a low income, no questions asked in exchange for services within the community. If you'd like one of these please email mcrpsychedelic@gmail.com.
Disclaimer
Whilst we'll talk a lot about psychedelics, we ask that you don't bring any with you to the meet-ups, nor solicit them from members. It's worth remembering that possession of these substances remains illegal in the UK and we want to make sure everyone who comes along feels safe doing so.
