As spring gives way to summer, foraging season is in full swing! This is a special time of year: a time of abundance, of bursting wild flavors in every park and street corner. The diversity of edible plants that surround us in Berlin is extraordinary, and there's no better time to dive into foraging - because once you know what to look for, there is wild food everywhere!

Join me for a wander through Treptower Park, where we will get acquainted with a delicious range of common, beginner-friendly herbs and flowers growing right in the heart of the city – no experience necessary.

Together we'll explore the urban greenery and learn the basics of how to find, identify, harvest, and prepare the wild and urban plants that are currently in season.

With a big focus on keeping yourself – and the land and its other inhabitants  – safe while foraging, you'll discover how to get confident enough to bring your own harvest home, and come away with loads of ideas for how to prepare your finds!

This is a community tour - a once-a-month, donation-based foraging workshop, intended to increase the accessibility of my foraging walks for folks with lower incomes who can't otherwise afford to attend. The tour will place special emphasis on creating and sustaining community – both with other humans, and also with the non-human world. All are welcome, regardless of income!

When: Saturday May 17th, 13.30 - 17:30
Where: Treptower Park (~ 3km walking in total)
Suggested donation: 15-35€. Please contribute whatever you can!

I set a minimum of 5€ donation to increase the accountability to show up on the day, and not cancel last-minute. Please also help keep this accessibility by notifying me 24 hours or more before the start of the workshop if you do not intend to come (refunds are possible for tickets cancelled 48 hours or more in advance).

Once you are registered, you will receive an email with all details on what to bring and the exact meeting location.

The meeting and ending point for the tour are accessible with public transportation. The exact meeting point, along with what to bring, will be sent via email after registration. Don't forget to read your confirmation email carefully!

A note on pricing & philosophy:

It's a deep value of mine that this learning – which radically connects us with ourselves, the land, and one another – should be accessible for everyone, which is why I'm keeping my tours as low-price as I possibly can. This spring, I'm trying out a new system to uphold this financial accessibility while keeping it sustainable for myself.

My standard workshops now have two ticket levels: Full price and Concession.

I'll also be offering a fully donation-based community tour once a month throughout the season. This is open to everyone and anyone who is interested in learning about foraging and creating community around radical ways of relating to Berlin's human & non-human inhabitants. (Please note: it's not possible to pay for a donation-based community tour with a gift card.)

My intention with all of this is to earn a living wage while widening the reach of financial accessibility to more folks than I was able to with my previous sliding-scale model.

I'm grateful for you contributing financially in both a realistic and generous way. Thanks for being with me in navigating through the challenges of capitalism with justice, honesty and compassion!
