“Dance is the expression of body and heart. 5Rhythms® Heartbeat is an invitation to welcome every emotion, to breathe and move with them, so our heart’s truth and our movement become one dance”

In early life, most of us learned to suppress our emotions so we could fit in, belong, and conform in our family and society.

Some emotions were acceptable, others were not. Chances are we have become too numb to parts of our own heart while also getting caught in loops of emotionality or emoting . . . walking around feeling anxious, resentful, depressed.

Healthy emotions are raw energy that travels quickly through our system, providing information we can act on . . . fear wakes us up, anger has us set a boundary, sorrow requires us to let go, joy encourages us to celebrate and compassion witnesses it all in neutrality.

In our exploration this winter weekend, we will open to the elemental emotional energies and allow them to move, groove, melt, sweat and rock through our system . . . clearing out old debris, quickening our spirits, raising our vibration and increasing our capacity for compassion and love.

This workshop counts as 2.5 days (15 hours) of Heartbeat for those on the 5Rhythms teacher training path
