Heart of the Dart - RIVERSIDE NATURE DANCE

Dearest Dancers,

We kick-off the Nature Dance Season with an intimate Dance Ceremony In one of the deepest and wildest sections of the dart valley. 

If you’re looking for a nice level dancefloor then maybe this isn’t for you. 

The river bank is rugged and full of as many dips and slopes as the  gorgeous River  Dart that  twists and tumbles by.  

The music will be more atmospheric, often down-tempo rising into moments to shake and shiver with the wild waters. 

It will be a more personal journey, supporting  ground for our most potent connection, with smaller numbers to drop into a true, loving communion with the landscape.

💟 The Walk  💟

Approx - 30 Minutes through unbelievably gorgeous woodland. 
Note : We will be descending into the valley and it’s very steep in places. 

DANCE SPOT :  RIVER DART 
MEET SPOT : BELL TOR CORNER CARPARK 
MEET TIME : NOON 
WALK LEAVES : 12.30pm  (Be ready) 
OPENING  : 1.30pm (ish) 
CLOSING  : 3.30pm (ish)  
AFTERWARDS : Up to you x

💟 MUSICAL JOURNEY  (approx 1.40 hrs) 💟

DJ CurlyBard offers a sonic journey attuned to the natural elements of river, rock and air. 
The heartbeat of the music will be steady with more space for breathe and connection, yet rising into moments of aliveness and rhythmic rapture,

💟 DANCE TYPES 🗺️🍁

For Clarity : 

THIS EVENT WILL BE A : .

• Ceremonial Dance - Closed Container with no talking during the dance.
• Expedition Dance  : Dances that involve bigger walks to get to epic wild spots.

BUT NOT AS MUCH OF A :

• Community Dance  : Still a Deep-Dive Dance Journey, although a little more open and relaxed for socialisation if thats what you choose.
• Very Public Places Dance  - Dancing in places where there is likely to be more general public to witness - a slight flash mob feel.

💟 KIDS ♾️

Please note : the river could be dangerous for small children in additions to the walk could being hard-going.
That said, you are most welcome, just as long as you take full responsibility for the safety of any children (especially at the river-side) 
If you need help on the walk then let me know and I will reach out for support.
NOTE : There will be a much more accessible dance  the following weekend, with a Dartmoor spot specifically chosen to make it feel easier for parents.

NOTE : only come if you can take full responsibility for your own safety in this terrain.

If there’s excessive rainfall in the days before the dance, for safety we may have to move the dance to a Tor overlooking the Dart Valley.

• Ample Water  (More than you think)
• Something to Sit on
• Suitable Clothing
• A jacket with hood if a chance of rain.
• Your Personal Intention to Dance.

Please be aware that due to the variable nature of dancing outdoors, our event times may vary slightly. Often  it can take folks time to land and settle in a wild environment. It really helps if people arrive on time and gather quickly when you are called to begin. While we'll do our best to stay on schedule, we appreciate your patience if things run a bit longer than expected. Thanks for your understanding!

For this event we use silent disco headphones, allowing us to enjoy the  most beautiful wild places without disturbing the natural environment or others walkers. All headphones are provided and come with their own individual volume control

💟 Refund Policy 🎟️ 

Tickets are non-refundable unless an event is cancelled or postponed. In the event of a postponement, you will have the option to either keep your ticket for the rescheduled date or apply it to any future Nature Dance event. Additionally, tickets are transferable and can be sold or passed on to others if you’re unable to attend. 

Many of our events sell out, so if you cannot make it, please do pass on your ticket to ensure someone else has the chance to join in.
