A new community conversation series begins in Glastonbury today, offering local people a welcoming space to discuss topics that are often hard to talk about. The first session of Living Well - Dying Well takes place at The Glastonbury Pilgrim Reception Centre on the High Street, hosted by Soul Midwife Lucy Lord and funeral director Nicky Sutton.

The gathering focuses on talking about death, exploring why the subject can feel difficult, examining shared fears and beliefs, and making room for questions about future wishes. Everyone is welcome to attend, including those considering their own plans, people supporting someone near the end of life, or those simply curious to understand more, with no need to be currently navigating a bereavement. The session is limited to eight participants, who are free to share or just listen.

People particularly valued the chance to connect with others on a similar path, describing the overall experience as healing and full of positive energy. None of the participants raised any complaints or suggested practical changes, with several simply pointing out how uplifting the weekend had been for their daily lives.

In Frome, a women-only workshop called Voice Liberation Circle with Natty 💜 is opening its doors to ten participants at a private home. Rather than offering formal singing lessons, the host guides women through exercises designed to free up their voices and explore self-expression.
